Murcy was rather reluctant to take on someone who didn't fulfil the very core principle of the Rehabilitators. However it hadn't gone unnoticed how helpful a Thrower might be to the team.
It fell to a rather unlikely source to reach a solution. Nobbit Shufflefoot wandered up to Dirk, booted him in the shin and shouted "Gerrof my land!". This may have been entirely inadvertent but Murcy took the opportunity to fix up Handsson's bruised shin, and in doing so swung a contract under his nose.
