Blood Dragon Vampire

Famous Teams
Castiron Knights, first appeared in Blood Bowl magazine 4.

Background
Once Bretonnia started fielding Blood Bowl teams it did not take long until their undead neighbours to the north followed suit: The Blood Dragons, the one-time loyal templars of Bretonnia, now macabre reflections of their past lives. The Blood Dragons were determined to show the Bretonnians their newfound powers and hoped to enthral great numbers of their knights with astounding displays of their brute force.

While the Bretonnians vehemently deny it, there is no doubt that the Blood Dragons have significantly grown in number, the most skilled knights and lowly peasants travel to the Blood Keep in secret with the hope of being granted immortality and becoming a Blood Dragon Vampire. Though in truth most die serving as lowly thralls.

Rationale
Blood Dragons are the most skilled warrior knights, known as Undead Knights Errand. From this alone it was clear that their St should St4, and I also felt adding Mighty Blow would be the best choice to represent their brutality and skill in combat. Because they are considered knights in the Bretonnian form Av10+ seemed appropriate as they are so heavily armoured. This was the main reason why their Ag was dropped, not because they are much less agile than any other vampire type but more because they cannot move around so freely with the heavy suits of armour they wear.

Unlike Necrach or Strigoi vampires they do feed on the blood of humans, so Thralls were the clear choice for Linemen. But they have also been given the option for up to 4 Zombies, this was because their background, portrays them as commanding vast zombie hordes that have risen from around the city of Nuln.

Grave Guard were added to the list as this troop choice is synonymous with Blood Dragons in Warhammer Fantasy. I could have stuck with Wights which are very similar, but I wanted the team to have more individuality and a lower average Ag than Wights would provide, while having a higher Av due to their associations with Bretonnia and Knights Templar.

Season 2 (2020 Edition) Changes
I changed Blood Lust to 3+ in line with Vampire Blitzers from the new official Vampire Team and gave them Juggernaut, keeping the cost the same as standard Vampire Blitzers, Blood dragons have 1 lower Ag, but have Mb and +1Av. Which depicts the Blood Dragons as the elite of the Vampire Blitzers. I also added the Vampire Lord rule.
