Background
The Border Princes, also knowns as the Borderlands or the Border Principality is vast frontier located on the edges of civilised human society. South of the Empire and to the West of Tilea and Bretonnia. These wild and untamed lands are an assembly of small colonies, often established by political, or religious exiles from the surrounding human kingdoms. Though this amorphous region is ruled over by humans the lands are largely lawless and overrun with bandits and mercenaries and is barely distinguishable from the ruthlessness observed in the Greenskin tribes found to the south in the Badlands.

Blood Bowl teams from the Borderlands mirror the regions lawless brutality. Their players are battle hardened and more than willing to use underhand tactics to achieve their goals. Though not as wealthy, well equipped or organised as teams from the surrounding human kingdoms, the Border Princes are uniquely equipped in other ways and they’re always ready for a brawl.

Rationale
Border Princes teams are a human team, but less organized and their armour isn’t as sophisticated. However, due to tough living conditions and the danger of the frontiers surrounding them they are battle hardened compared with the humans of the Empire. As such the majority of the team has Thick Skull and all but their Ogre and Brawlers are av8+.

The team’s playstyle does not adhere to the purists’ idea of the sport. They forgo Catchers and Throwers in favour of a running game, and like the rest of the team the Runners match the themes of the region, the Runners are high skilled at escaping trouble and holding on to their prize. Translating as Break Tackle and Sure Hands. Similarly, the team does not have glory seeking Blitzers, the team instead fields thuggish Brawlers that function somewhere between Blockers and Blitzers in the traditional sense. Though fast Brawlers lack the finesses and defensive skills of a standard Human Blitzer, so lose Block and gain Brawler again fitting the rag tag themes running through the team.

Finally, the Rogue was added to add an extra element to the team’s playstyle and to add to the feel of them being cheaters and using underhand tactics.

Season 2 (2020 Edition) Changes
Pa stats added, Brawler was given to the Brawler and Break Tackle to the Runner with respective cost adjustment. The skills were added as they fit the character of the team.
