Background
Hill Goblins are a particularly large and aggressive breed of Goblins found at the edge of the Badlands. Typically they are nearly the size of a common Orc, though their skin is darker similar to that of the Black Orcs. They are more brutal and ambitious than common Goblins and they love brawling.

Like most Badlands teams Hill Goblins are nomadic, traveling the Old World looking for games. They are quickly gaining a reputation as the toughest stunty team found in the game. Many fans travel to the Old World keen to to see the tough Goblins and the unique Goblins that accompany them. The Fire Kobolds - fire spewing volcanic Goblins born in the Badlands fiery mountains, and the aquatic Goblins called Traglagobs, found swimming in the rivers of the Badlands.

I decided to make the core of the roster St3 stunties, something that Secret League used to have with Gnomes, but after their official release that roster was changed for verisimilitude reasons. Hill Goblins now fill that niche. The standard hill Goblin stat line is the same as a normal Goblin with St3, though because of their increased size, they lose some mobility and the protection of Dodge. Their size does mean they have G access rather than A access too. As they are nearly as capable as an Orc and don't have to rely on sneaky dodging to get by.

I decided to give the team Blockers, partly as a nod to Orc Blitzers in design, a player they'd aspire to be like. And Brawler to represent their lore around Brawling all the time. Representing their scrappy nature and as a nod to Black Orcs, as Hill Goblins are sometimes known as the Goblin version of Black Orcs.

I decided to give the team River Goblins as their runners. There are known as Troglagobs. They are the same stat line as Nauticans as they are essentially the same; Stunty, Goblin sized, with webbed hands and feet which is represented by Big Hand. I felt these would fit with Hill Goblins well as there are river Goblins found all along the 3 main rivers of the Badlands - Skull River, Howling River and Blood River.

Finally I addeded the Fire Kobold. Also known as Red Goblins and Fire Goblins, these are also native to the badlands, specifically the Red Cloud mountain region. These Goblins are the same size as common Goblins though have patches of orange and red on their greenskin. They are known for projecting fire from their mouths. Though this is a natural defensive mechanism this Goblinoid has developed it is still seen as a projectile by Blood Bowl officials so they are usually sent off when a referee gets the chance.

2020 Edition Update (2024)
I removed Secret Weapon and Bombardier from the Fire Kobold and gave them the new Fire Breath Skill, and reduced their Pa, so their cost remained the same.
