Background
In the Chaos wastelands, north of Naggaroth and Cathay, live tribes of Hung. Once similar in appearence to humans of Cathay, but squat and oftentimes hiddeously disfgured from self inflected maws carved into their faces and chest, allowing the chaotic forces to mutate them more easily . Like the Kurgan tribes of the northern wastes the Hung are a nomadic race aligned to the gods of Chaos. The Hung however are more primitive than the Kurgans, they have no cities or large settlements, and ritualisticly sacrifice human souls, creating a vessel for chaotic daemonic forces to posses the vacant body. They live off the land, and at one time fought along side the Tong, (a small but most feared, barbaric northmen tribe), during skirmishes into Cathay. So feared were the Hung and Tong that Cathay errected the great bastion on their northern borders to keep the Hung and Tong out. Even now in this relative time of peace Cathay are extra vigilant whenever a Hung team is in town.
Rationale
Hung are a Northman team, their main positional like Kurgan teams has to be the Marauder as they are the one Hung to have been given a stat line in Warhammer. They are stronger than normal Chaos Marauder, but squat like a dwarf though not quite that small. They are very thick set, you cannot see if they even have a neck and they are heavily mutated. They cut them self and their children from infancy, opening up sores allowing mutations to take hold more quickly. One of the most common lacerations they make is widening of the mouth, and many Hung Marauders have a daemonic mutated mouth with spiked teeth as a result. For these reasons they started with Ma5, and Foul Appearance. Tackle was given to them as they are built similarly to Dwarfs and stronger than normal Marauders, though not enough to warrant Block as a starter skill. Also in terms of the overall team make it giving them Block would detract from the Darksouls.
The Linemen were made up of Hung, though not fully skilled Marauders. They share the lower Ma that Hung have and easy access to Mutation access, which both help show they are a lower skilled warriors of the Hung Clan.
Darksouls and Tong feature in the Hung background in Warhammer Fantasy Role Play. Tong first of all are actually a separate tribe - they were once the strongest of all Northmen tribes and most feared, but their numbers dwindled over the years and now there is only a small scattering of them that remain. Now they fight along side the Hung. They are considered the biggest strongest, most fanatical and most hideous looking of all the northmen which accounts for their stat line and skill set. Animosity was added because although they fight along side the Hung now they still do not trust them and believe they are vastly superior. They only partake in the sport for the thrill of the fight and to further their ancestors names.
Darksouls are former humans that were captured from Old World human settlements. They were tortured and then ritualistically offered as a vessel for a daemon to take over the empty shell of a man. These human like creatures are fearless, and grab and grapple at any opposition within their grasp. We felt giving them S access wouldn't be truly fitting, although they are fearless they are a basic human shell after all. Wrestle and Grab both felt appropriate for a creature that just wants to pull their foe to the ground and savage them.
Season 2 (2020 Edition) Changes
Changed Tackle to Brawler on Hung Marauders and removed Pa from Tong as I do not like Tackle as a starting skill due to it being too much of a hard counter for some opponents and worthless against others, Brawler implies Hung are skilled brawlers. No other changes made.
2020 Edition Further Changes (2024)
Favoured of Hashut added to the list in Special Rules.
