Background
Ogres have played Blood Bowl since it's inception and through the years have achieved great success, none more so than the Oldheim Ogres who won the Blood Bowl in 2475. Since that famous win over the Reikland Reavers things have only gone from bad to worse for Ogre teams. Half-Orcs that once played by their side broke off and formed their own teams, Goblins and Halflings both refused to play along side Ogres for one reason or another and Ogre teams of the old world became scarce. Most Old World Ogres of any notable ability were found playing in human teams, and the remaining Ogre teams could only get worthless snotlings to stand along side them on the pitch.
Beyond the World's Edge Mountains and Dark Lands among the Mountains of Mourn; a more primitive society of Ogres watched the sport via Cablevision. Horrified at how Ogres were now represented in the sport, the Ogre Kingdoms began forming their own teams managed by Ogre Butchers. Though tactics and team talks are not a Butcher's strong point they do make a foul brew to get their Ogre players fired up before a match.
The teams evolved over time to represent every aspect of the Ogre Kingdom society, Yhetis and Gourgers were coaxed out of the wilds to play along side the Ogres adding a wild ferocity to their lineup. Gnoblars joined the teams to make up the numbers, and served as a good food supply for the Ogres when traveling between games. Later Leadbeltchers converted their cannons that at one time were used as weapons of war into ball and Gnoblar firing cannons, adopting the new name Ballbelchers. And Firebellys started appearing in Ogre Kingdom teams throwing exploding balls of fire at their opposition throughout matches, adding greatly to the spectacle.
Ogre Kingdom teams are still relatviely new on the Blood Bowl circuit but they already have a greater following than the lacklustre Ogre teams of the Old World, and have given a glimmer of hope that one day Ogres may take hold the Blood Bowl trophy once more.
Rationale
Gnoblars stat line was pretty straight forward; they are basically just Goblins with a lower Av, and adjusted cost.
The Ogre is just a basic Ogre. The Yhetee is just a Yhetee from the Norse team. In official GW Bloodbowl this is what the Snow Troll is called.
The Gorger is pretty straight forward as well, Wild Animal is the obvious choice as they are frenzied killing machines. They are very tough so Av9 and Thick Skull seemed appropriate.
The Ballbelcher is based on the Leadbeltcher from the Ogre Kingdoms army. They are a standard Ogre with a Ballzooka which in all instances adds Strong arm and Hail-mary Pass to the player.
Finally the Firebelly was added which is a standard Ogre stat line with Bombardier.
Season 2 Changes
Played around 30 games with a win percentage of 40%. This is not enough to draw any conclusions other than there was no desire from anyone to play with this roster. As such there were 2 changes made. The Gnoblar trappers got Av7 to make them worth taking. The Maneaters got G access
Season 3 Changes
Because Gnoblars were roundly ignored the roster got a re-design as an Ogre Kingdom team, and Gnoblars got a new roster based fully on the Gnoblar army list that was published in White Dwarf. Which has a lot more flavour. In season one they had a win percentage of 45.61%, out of 57 games played. Which is not enough games to draw any real conclusions, though they were more popular than season 1 and performed better. The thematic re-write has already seen a greater take up in scheduled leagues, and adds more flavour to both this roster and the new Gnoblar one.
Season 3 Changes
With 387 games played this year and a win percentage of 40.31% I am happy with how the team is performing, I have locked them in.
