Background
To the east of the Southlands, deep in the jungles beyond the Lizardmen temples and Savage Orc camps is the city of Rasetra. Formally a Lizardman stronghold in an age long forgotten - now lives the reminiscence of this great race. The Lizardmen go about their business in a parody of their former lives, some training for war, some standing guard over their temples and others playing a never ending game of Blood Bowl on the pitches of old.
Very few knew of this region of the world and it wasn’t until the famous Saurus throw-Ra Khonsu made his appearance in the Blood Bowl circuit of the Old World that people started to wonder where he came from. Sorcerers combed the Southlands for signs of this race and once found it did not take long before many of these Lizardmen skeletons were spellbound and taken off around the world to play Blood Bowl under their masters control.
Rationale
Rasetra is a city surrounded by Jungle in Khemri that was once inhabited by Lizardmen, like the rest of Khemri they were wiped out in some catastrophic event. The outcome of this is Lizardmen Skeletons now live (for lack of a better word) in this area. Just like the rest of Khemri they move around in a parody of their former selves.
There were a few reasons for this rosters inclusion in this league, the most important reason is there is a Khemri star player mentioned in the background for Blood Bowl written for LRB5 called Khonsu. This player never had a stat line but based on the material he is a Lizardmen Saurus that is now a Skeleton Throw-Ra, as he is a Lizardman and from Khemri he had to come from Rasetra which in the Warhammer world this unique race would live. Once I had included a few other Khemri teams for various reasons and Savage Orcs from this region to it only felt fitting that I should include a Lizardmen Khemri team.
The first player I created was a Saurus Throw-Ra based on Khonsu. Skeletons are humans with -1av, -1ma, -1ag and Thick skull. So I applied this formula to a Saurus, however since he is also a Throw-Ra I had to give him the additional perks that the Helm of Throw-Ra gives its wearers – loss of Thick Skull, Sure Hands, Pass, +1Ma; once all this was added I had the player you can see in the roster above. I decided to leave the player with S access as well as G and P because a Saurus has access to S skills and because of their size.
The same method was used for the Saurus, they did not lose Thick Skull though as they were not wearing a helm of Throw-Ra, and do not gain the added Ma from this either.
I considered giving them Skinks in some form, but Skeleton Skinks would just be too useless and I wanted people to try and use the Ag1 player as the ball carrier, it is obviously a big weakness in the team, but they do have 55.6% chance of picking the ball up each turn and with S access once they get BT they are pretty mobile too. In the end I felt that normal Skeletons would suffice.
Finally I added a Kroxigor skeleton. I gave the player the name Kroq-Ra as a little nod to a Lizardman special character in Warhammer called Kroq-Gar. It also seemed like a really good fit for a blend of the two races. Also its worth mentioning here that in Rasetra in WFB they worship a crocodile god, just as in Lybaras they worship a snake god. This can be seen in the monuments of the two regions, and also in the Ushabti in Warhammer who’s heads represent the regions gods - like the jackal head, or crocodile head. To create this player I used the same process as above, but I decided to give them two. The reason for this was because the roster would be pretty unappealing to most otherwise and also to help the team a little against fast agile teams which will no doubt punish them. I also envisage these Kroq-Ras standing guard over their kings tombs like Ushabti, and these tomb guard statues always come in pairs either side of an entrance.
