I don't know... Ranked teams have a massive advantage in being able to pump themselves up artifically. Box teams wouldn't be particularly competitive. |

TS seems broken to me (compare Necros with Orcs TS), use a fair system to calculate TS.
I´m not familiar with LRB 5 TV, maybe it´s better than LRB 4 TS. |

If it isn't more fair, it's at least as fair, and it's more transparent (the loopholes are more evident). |

Having just given Black Box another go, I am reminded again why I don't like it. I like to chat a bit when I play, and the black box opponents I have had don't.

I think that is not different from ranked.
Sometimes people chat, sometimes they don`t. I try to be chatty, but usually it depends on my opponent. |

Not what I said.
I said TS isn't any better, and is more obtuse (which it is). |

I would like to see the following features in blackbox
Tournaments
Awards
Rankings! Coaches (championship), races, teams, players -- all-time & periodical
Possibility to select a number of your teams for the draw |

There I disagree with you. TV has even more holes and loops. I wouldn`t mind that much, because inaccurate measuring unit means that the more efficient (or maybe boring?) you build your team the great advantage you have. A passblock catch elf has as much TV as a Blodge one. A +MA dwarfblitzer and a thickskull orc blitzer have exactly the same stats and skills, yet the dorf is valued higher. TV increases the advantage of underpriced players.
TS might not be perfect, but it can be improved. TV is set in stone. |

Well neither TR or TV can truly represent the strength of a team because that is a factor of all the players on the team. For example +Str on a Mummy on an undead team is worth more for the team than +Str on a Khemri one, as the Khemri have 3 more mummies to assist each other.
I agree though that TV is a better measure of a teams winning potential |

TV looks attractive because no ones tried it yet.
If you tried it in a massive open league and with LRB4 then you will come up against all sorts of horrible problems. While TS has plenty of issues and a stack of loopholes it still protects you from quite alot of stuff. Amazons, halflings, claws, dirty players, FF, norse... those are some of the more blatent issues that TV is going to bring up. There are a whole host of other problems, some of them predictable and others not. Using TV in blackbox the way it is at the moment really would be opening pandoras box. |

I can agree with that. TV won't work with LRB 4 in any venue, let alone in an open and anonymous league (where problems are magnified). Simple as that. Honestly, TS issues are about #4789 in line in the list of things that need to be fixed in [B], but it certainly gets the most press. |

Well as Circular said, that's a matter of persons. I don't think that [B] attracts non-social coaches more than [R].
I love [B] and hate non-chatters, so I guess you just had bad luck.
By the way I managed to play the MOST UNSOCIAL coach ever. He didn't even wrote Hi! |

I actually hadnt realized that B counts for championship points too, nice. Though it would be nice if you could get a listing of coaches who only played B |
