Issue 12 Coaches Couch Link
Personally i enjoyed it. But then i am for from impartial
I dissagree with assassins being any use, but on the advice of the couch i have just invested in one to try for myself their supposed awesomeness.
i'm even tempted by Diving Catch now. Sort of.
But do the couch sessions get read? do they interest people?
(Edited to steal and amend Purplegoo's link as people are lazy.) |

Do you play CPOMB 'cause you can't win otherwise?
No, that's a rhetorical question. |

I liked this issue's Couch article. It's interesting to see the different coaches' takes on the same skills.
One part I particularly find funny:
Coach A: Skill X is worthless, but noobs seem to like it for some reason.
Coach B: Skill X is great. I really like it.
Coach B proactively pwned by Coach A. |

And next game vice versa happens. |

I enjoyed it, I always like the couch.
Agreed with (if you'd like a spin off discussion): Lack of traits is poor, rock/paper/scissors of skills is a bit weak, general feeling LRB6 is about a 7 or 8/10 (rather than fix little issues they went a bit nuts), Freak's Grab for OTS point, yet to use it myself, but I can see it really helping.
Disagreed with: Anything positive to say about Fend, the feeling that Big Guy blitzing is still a n00b label, but Jugs sort of lets them get away with it (I actually think at base TV, Blitzing with a WA is fine, what else have you got with MB on non vital turns? This was probably the same in LRB4... As TV goes up, agreed a bit more, n00b label, you should have a better hitting player on any team), Sneaky Git being entirely pointless (it has a slight point), Jock's face. |

One fun fact I think people have missed is. Anybody can now get a huge tv team (2100 +). I know claw, mb, po is overpowered but unless is a completely weird game you wont get more then 2 rips max. If you look at any team with 40+ matcher you will see that they have reached above 2100 unless managed otherwise by their coach by choice. |

I enjoy the couch - it's usually the first article I read (this time was the Angry Man though because I missed the GLN announcement and saw that forum thread first).
For TV management, I think it is a bit too early. It may more be something for the second next edition. I'd like to see something like a prediction talk (of tactics, of team development, of all the changes the new rules may bring or not to the game and the metagame). Later then you can check the predictions on other couches on those topics. |

Definitely interesting, best feature article. Just don't take what the coaches say as gospel, they might have the wrong idea about some things... Make up you own mind! |
