Unfortunately no, it won't work. I've used the Surface Pro 3 to play but I didn't enjoy it that much because of misclicks (but I am naturally clumsy) |

Oh, I was looking for some Android's application to work on.
That's may be a brilliant idea. |

ever? maybe... Kalimar has mentioned that he and Christer are working on the protocol between client and server to make it usable with a (currently not even developed) HTML 5 webclient
soon? not likely
Btw, someone managed to play on his tablet via a remote desktop connection to his desktop computer which was running the FFB client - but that is a complicated way and really not comfortable to use |

Also on an RDP connection the ball animation moves slower than molasses in January. To an Aussie or Kiwi that idiom is useless but the point is its slow. |

It's so a big pity!
I should play at least twice a day with a such application... once while getting to work, once while going back home.

Actually none of those fits the need.
That's why I mentionned starting a project.
As I wanted starting some Android stuff, that's a good opportunity for me, even if it's not going to end soon. |

I wish I knew how to make this a reality!
Just picked up a new phone today and thought about this. |

To make the client workable on android either it should run with open java (OpenJDK + IcedTea: currently it freezes) or Oracle should provide java web start for ARM. This makes me unable to play on my Raspberry Pi too. |

If I remember correctly, Java Virtual Machine software is banned on Android. I guess with rooting something may be possible. (These instructions came to me on Google, though I don't know if they work or are hazardous. Your device, your risks.)
If I have understood it right, iOS and Android ban Java for commercial reasons, so it is not likely they will voluntarily allow Java on their system. I guess one could try to appeal to Google or to Apple but that sounds likely rather non-effective. There are some lawsuits also ongoing regarding Java on those devices, I think.
RDP client is likely the easiest way to get it workin in practice. HTML5 client would likely work on more machines. It seems sad to me that the ecosystem thinking includes restricting user options on software. |
