Hey. I am a new coach - eysteinthewise - to fumbbl and both for my own sake (immersion) and to simply remember the fallen I am doing a recap of matches played here on the forum with some story when I feel like it. I am not that much of a writer so it is more of a learning experience for me.

In any case let me introduce the Woodland jumpers and its coach. The team always tries to attack when possible and prefer fan pleasing high scoring games to any 2-1 grinds. The motto is after one of the great teachers of woodelf strategy - leap to victory. Always trying to find a hole in any opponents cages the team plays a high risk/reward strategy when the position allows it. As the main coach I realize that we are going to risk a lot of injuries and we will need a well diversified team to keep going even if any one of our players are taken out. With that said the fans love stars and I am sure the Woodland jumpers will develop some as well.

Without further ado here is my journey in the black box with short match referandums from each game.

Game #1 vs Aarhus, High elf, score 3-3.
"An exiting 3-3 match with a 2 turn touchdown by pushing a chain of Aarhus team players in such a way that the woodland jumpers could score. The new formed team Woodland Jumpers where happy to play such a high paced action thrilled game. The so far only catcher of the team "sofus catson" managed a single touch down while 2 linesmen of the team participated with one touchdown each. Sofus catson marked himself with a sucessfull pass as well and it will be interesting if he can keep up this great gameplay in games going forward. Certainly full of confidence and with no serious injuries to account for the team is once again ready to fight in the black box."

Game #2 vs bash proof, Orcs, score 1-2.
"Things are toughening up for the woodland jumpers and the freshly apointed coach Eysteinthewise as the second game comes with the death of one of the star players - azur leapson - the wardancer. After an insain run by sofus catson in the mid game of first half time with several risky dodges and going for it all the way to the goal line the gods of luck seem to have had enough. Azur leapson tried to block a troll near the touchline with the ball (yes.. the troll fart loud had the ball..) and managed to slip on the astrogranite. Valuable lesson learned from the young coach as going for it sometimes makes your player go in an entierly different place.

RIP Azur Leapson. He leaves Azur jr, a young to be wardancer eager to join the woodland jumpers should they in the future be able to afford his training for wardancing."

Game #3 vs Willy and the Poorboys, Skaven, score 0-4.
"In a high pace game with several defensive blitzes and offensive snaps by the skaven team the woodland jumpers simply could not keep up. The only wardancer left on the woodland jumpers Jiro let out his frustration in a mauling of Willy, managing to catch the high moving rat and mauling him so bad he now has less agility in his game. Willy was seen limping and licking his wounds albeit happy about the score in the match. With no touchdowns himself woodland jumpers can atleast be proud of the defensive efforts on man marking the star player. However the overall defence has a long way to go. The star player of Woodland jumpers Sofus "catson" had his first match without even a single touchdown - perhaps due to an early knock out from the match and suprisingly remaining knocked out even if the coach repeatedly tried to wake him up after each new score by the skavens.

Lessons learned from this game? Willy is fast. Damn fast. "

Game #4 vs Hamish's ravishing zone, humans, score 1-1.
"Sofus "catson" is back to shape early in the game managing a quick touchdown. Eager to make up for his poor performance in his previous game. The end of the first half saw some exellent defending by the team who seemed to have redoubled the defensive efforts after letting in 4 touchdowns in the previous match. The exellent defence continued in the second half holding the humans off almost to the end. Sadly some risky positonal play ment several players where sent crowd surfing - among them most of the star players. In the end there simply where not enough men on the field to mark all the players. On a positive note the fanbase of the team is starting to grow and this should help them in the founding department. After the match the Journeyman Lineman Edward Darkspike was signed due to his performances in the match - recieving the #14 jersey. The #2 is still reserved for azur jr if he should decide to join the team.

Key takeaways from the game is that Sofus "catson" is back from his one match slumber in touchdowns. With 3 touchdowns in 4 matches the player remains the key focal point of the offensive movements by the team."

Game #5 vs Hollywood Cowboys, humans, score 0-2
"Several human players with both blocking and mighty blow practice made this a game to be feared for the Woodland jumper players. After kicking the ball and taking the usual first turn punches the defence managing to get around the human players and went for an all out offense to limit the space of the ball carrier.

Sadly however a big gap was left on the right wing that the human cage could exploit. Sofus "catson" overestimated his strenght when he single handedly defended the right wing on his own. A foul KO of Jiro the war dancer ment he was out for the first human drive early in the match. However with 2 bloodweiser babes chanches are he would want to rejoin the fight later. But with the large number of dirty and mighty players on the human team it quickly took a toll on the Woodland jumpers with only 8 players on the field by mid game of the first half. Sofus "catson" was to be the teams only hope and inspiration as he charged together with his teammates on the giant ogre hoss and actually managed to stun him. Not only is sofus "catson" bringing it on the offence he seems to be doing well in supporting the defence when needed as well. Sadly with the cage so near to the touchline already by turn 7 it was an upphill battle and by turn 8 the touchdown was scored. By 2nd half 10 players where back into the field to fight the "cow punchers" as dubbed by the team coach uhaul. The second half was riddle by coaching mistakes by the inexperienced coach Eysteinthewise. In the end he elected for more experience by passing to some of his linemen to atleast prepair for future matches. The team managment is starting to get disgruntled with the performance of the coach. Will Eysteinthewise step up his performance in the future? At least the fans are still on the coach side as the fan factor has not been reduced.

Key takeaways from the match: Several blunders made this an easy match for the Hollywood cowboys. The Woodland jumpers managment is already discussing the future of the coach. On a brighter note the lineman Drav Eagleson who averages 2 blocks per game now had enough experience to learn blocking.

Badly hurt players: Asridar the bullrider, Kempo Fightson."

Game #6 vs Hamish's Ravishing Zone, human, score 1-2
First half was a tight game where the human side scored early and Jiro made a touchdown for the woodland jumpers. The human side played a bloody game but it was actually more blocks and more knock downs early given to the Woodland jumpers. Especially Asridar stepped up to make a casuality. The second half the Woodland jumpers failed to capitalize on the advantage they had in numbers. Clearly the team coach eysteinthewise needs on his positional tactics.Adding to insult the game could easily have ended 1-1 but refusing to play defensivly the Woodland jumpers gave away a touchdown in the very last turn. Fans are already questioning the gung ho attitude of the coach as could be seen by the low gate attendance to the match. HOw long will the coach be able to last in his position?

Key takeaway: Interestingly enough while on the match itself performance was terrible, several players on the team have stepped up the game to give the coach more tactical oppertunities. Griv has learned guard as he feels there really needs to be better protection of the ball carrier, while Elir "the wise" have gone for the very classical trainining in blocking. You have to wonder if the performance slump of the Woodland jumpers are about to end with the first win and if this could cheer up the fans somewhat.

Game # 7 vs elftrainer a dark elf team, score 1-2.
Many journeymen and high skilled opponent. Early toucdown by turn 2 by the dark elves. Yet another blitz for the opponent team (several in a row from the last 3 matches) Ven boarson with a early 4 turn touchdown. Quick snap again for the offensive team. Our players need to work on the kick off reactions.
Dark elfs answered with a touchdown by the 6th turn. A mid 2nd half risky dodge move of 50/50 twice was failed and the ball was on the ground with the score 1-2 in favor of the dark elves. Sadly some good defending ment the dark elf scored again by turn 7 of the second half.

Game #8 Woodland jumpers vs Turquoise turtles, lizzardmen, score 1-1.
Early offensive defence with triv the dealer getting knocked out while pressing the stunty skink osmond carrying the ball and a quick score by sofus catson in turn 5. A strong first half defence ment that the score was kept in the Woodland Jumpers advantage with 1-0
by the end of first half. In the second half asridar was badly hurt early in the game while sofus catson tried to jump behind the defence for a quick pass and getting followed closly by the kroxigor. The Torquise turtles defended exellent and scored a touchdown by turn 6 in the second half. The game ended 1-1 with 1 touchdown by sofus catson and one compleated pass by Kempo Fightson. MVP was Sritax bravehearted.

Key takeaways: Sofus catson is back again in shape doing touchdowns. How long can he keep it up this time? Some encouraging news for the coach managing to fight to a draw this time.

Game #9 vs Polka Dot Gamblers, skaven, score 2-0.
turn 2 touchdown with a quick passing game allowing jiro the forestdancer to bring it up 1 in score for the Woodland Jumpers! 2nd half Zimba zuludancer breaks his ribs and misses next game during heavy defensive play by the Woodland jumpers to keep the score at 1-0. Jiro forestdancer is on fire an does yet another touchdown in the 2nd half with a blitz push. The coach eysteinthewise is exctatic as Woodland Jumpers manage to win the game 2-0. It was a high passing game with 5 compleated passes and 2 touchdowns by Jiro the forestdancer!

Key takeaways: The first victory for the Woodland jumpers! Jiro the team captein contributed heavily with 2TD's.

Game #10 vs Polka Dot Gamblers, skaven, score 4-1.
The woodland jumpers meet the Polka Dot gamblers again.
Early touchdown by sofus catson turn 3. Strong kick off making the skavens start off from the backline. A turn 8 touchdown by the skavens equalize the score. By turn 3 in the 2nd half Elir the wise makes his first touchdown! by turn 6 sofus catson makes his 2nd touchdown of the game.
Some very offensive defence allows sofus catson his 3rd touchdown of the match. WHAT a match of Sofus Catson! The crowd was overheard chanting his name long after the match was over.

Key takeaways: Sofus Catson is back with a vengance with a hatrick touchdown spree.

So far not the best of starts for the new coach who have managed 2 losses and 2 draws and already have a wardancer dead. Still the fanbase is growing (3 currently). It will be interesting to see how long the coach will last before he is sacked or the team is retired. As a young coach he is open to tactical suggestions and always trying to improve his game. The only requirement is a gung ho attitude with as much goals as possible. With that said defensive plays are also acceptable if there is no other options available.
