More or less. Wink

I think some might be surprised how applicable this is to real, progression teams too.

But anyway, point answered. When are you starting your look at 10 men? Wink

I looked at 10 men and concluded there is nothing better than the 'lazy' set up.

Unless... unless you have one or more of diving tackle/side step/stand firm.

In which case you run the same set as with 11, but you remove the back right man and stick diving tackle on the middle right man.

If you have side/step-stand firm/big guy... you stick them on the right end of the los and remove the back right man again. That one is less clear to me that it's necessary, but it's not worse than being lazy.

Essentially the opponent can still get around you, but it will require more pushes to accomplish. The diving tackle on the middle right is really key to letting you run it with 10, you can also run it with 9 with two diving tackle. Clearly if you have 4 diving tackle you can run it with 7, but frankly, who (other than slann maybe) is going to have 4 diving tackle? Lizards who don't auto fire skinks?

Best advice possible.

The best you can do with 11 is to back off (so you can't get blitzed) and set up on the edges and then one space apart. Best if you can spread your tackle such that it will cover at least one or two dodges.

Otherwise, just hope your opponent saved some 1s.

Killing is obvious choice but not very reliable and I need plan B Smile

Problem is with standart "get guys on the back" strat his chance of getting td is ridiculously high. If I will have 10 players (and considering he has MB it's highly likely) that's 2+ to dodge and depending on pushes 0-2 gfi.

So there is nothing that gives higher chance of defing against 10ma ?

3 SS or SF will help... unless it is MA10 and has sprint....

You could probably push a ma8 in range against 3 SS standing adjecant. Haven't really tried it but my mind tells me, it wouldn't be too hard. If they are not adjecant there are still ways, the no of squares that can be done would have to be determined.

Don't forget the value of the kick skill against OTTDs.

How about something like this:

_ x x _ | x x x x x x x | _ x x _

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _

As a bash team, particularly if you can spread some Guard out along the LOS and the other team is down a few players and is all st3 ?

I haven't used it for preventing 1TTD because there are some obvious holes, but can it be made to work?

@Grod: I would probably try to pick off the guy on the end and push him back in the direction he came from. Something like this:

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ b b b | _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ b X S | b _ _ _

_ _ _ _ | X X X X X X B | _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _

S is the scorer, B the blitzer, b blockers

Oh, you changed it on me! Razz

That does look a bit more tricky, although you could block two of the guys on the side away, then get your blitz in. If you're clever, you could position the downed guys to push off of as well ..

I was also thinking some st 4/5 players on the sides would help...

Also most chainpush strategies can't afford using players on the side blocking paths free, they need everyone available to setup the push.
