My idea for a flavourful undead team, I had this team come to me in a dream the night after two vampires died in one game against a shambling undead team that had lost a wight.
Code: |
Immortal Undead ----
Immortal Skeletons 0-4 65K
MA ST AG PA AV
5 3 4+ 6+ 7+
Regeneration, Thick Skull, Immortal, Decay
Primary G, Secondary AS
Immortal Zombies 0-6 60K
MA ST AG PA AV
4 3 4+ - 8+
Regeneration, Immortal, Decay
Primary G, Secondary AS
Immortal Blitzer 0-4 105K
MA ST AG PA AV
6 3 3+ 4+ 8+
Block, Sprint, Regeneration, Immortal, Decay
Primary GS, Secondary AP
Immortal Guardian 0-2 110K
MA ST AG PA AV
4 5 5+ - 9+
Stand Firm, Regeneration, Immortal, Decay
Primary S, Secondary AG
Rerolls 60K
Apothecary NO
Masters of Undeath, Sylvanian Spotlight.
Trait: Immortal.
Treat 15-16 casualty results as 14 result.

It is also possible to make it Immortal as a team special rule.
I have been working on this team to keep it balanced in medium length leagues I feel like it could be impossible to balance in the long or infinite ladder leagues as all 16 players could be legend eventually.[/code] |

The lower AV and Decay means that you will end up with many more injury, but with redrafting and temp retiring of players as an option, this team can be very interesting under new blood bowl rules. |

My issue with that team is that it's way to similar to khemri, except that you get 4 wights instead of 4 guardians as the core of the team. It doesn't feel like they have a unique playstyle. Or like Undead without ghouls.
The Immortal trait just feels like another Regeneration skill - it may add a little flavour and that's ok, but... that's either too much or not enough. I could see one big guy with an "undying" skill in a vampire team, or a whole other team of immortals with that skill. But yet another Undead team with that skill feels like if we had another elf team just with slightly different positionals and a "elf blood" skill making them harder to kill. So ok why not... but it doesn't feel needed.
I'd rather play a team with a different playstyle than a re-hash of existing teams with a flavourful trait. I think there's a lot of potential to expand on vampires, for example. What if they could choose a "bloodline"? What if that let you pick a bloodline vampire as a "Big Guy"?
Like this for example:
