Thanks all for the responses
I'll probably start with a similar lineup as MerryZ said and then develop into buying the Ogre 2 or 3 games into the league. |

Whether tis noblier to endure the bashing and fouling of outrageous over-strength'd opponents without the ANCHOR of your team, or to hire him and end them, to put them to sleep perchance to dream and what dreams may come of victory when your Ogre rips apart some pansy Elves or knocks out some fouled Orcs while absorbing Blocks and providing Guard assists to help your Humans CRY HAVOC and release the Dogs of War
Hire the Ogre |

Nice necro. Gonzip could update us how he got on over the last six months?
I do take the Ogre with Humans - very useful for shifting ST4 out the way. Set up 3D blocks and earn sweet SPP for Block & Guard. I don't worry too much about Bonehead, unless the Ogre is an essential cage corner.
MerryZ I'd agree with (alwAays!) at low TV the apotho does not seem good value. |

Newish players?
I’d do whatever feels fun and have as many laughs as possible
Ogre is good for laughs.
Strategy? Ogre is probably worth it in a progression league. |

Progression league, Ogre is fine. Open TV-based matchmaking, avoid the Ogre. |

I like Ogres. Keep him kind of cheap : Guard, Standfirm, maybe then Brawler or if you want it, Block. I havent started a Human team without the Ogre ever i think |

Thanks
It gave me a chance to classy up the joint with a little bit of Shakespeare-ish
Who knows what I will do here-after, as tomorrow, and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in it's petty pace from day to day and all our yesterdays have lighted pixels their way to dusty death.
Out, out brief candle, it is a game played by an idiot. Full of sound a fury, signifying nothing but lols and too many 1's to truly be random. |

It has gone so-so. I started without it, hired him after 3 games and now it has guard thanks to a mvp + cas.
I have found uses for the Ogre, and have not been Ogre'd (several 1's) too much.
Best thing I've found about using him is to shove it in the face of other ag3/str3 teams, where they have to either commit many members to take him down, giving me advantage in position and clumping his players, dodge unreliably or have some pieces stranded there, giving me numbers advantage.
Have not found him as effective against heavy bash teams, where they do not need that many pieces to take him to the ground and are also happy to be blobbed and move forward slowly.
Finished in top8 with a decently developed human team and now waiting for playoffs |
