I was playing a few people recently who are determined to finish their 60 game run in the BBT, despite the bad dice they have been getting. I find myself respecting that, and wishing their was some form of 'reward' or acknowledgement for completing a sprint.
One idea that came to mind..
There are 32 entries into the post-season tournament, one for each winning race, and then compensation entries of other high scoring teams.
I think it would be great if at least one or two of the compensation entries were chosen at random from all of the squads that finished a 60 game run. In this way a coach gains a little something as reward for their perseverance.. a roughly 1 in 45 chance of making it into the tournament. The coach who won that 'lottery' would enter the team on their squad with the best result.
In BBT 10, 9 & 8, I count 44, 43, and 50 completed runs. To determine a winner, one could roll a d50 in DISCORD and count up from the bottom to see which coach matched the roll.
Example: BowlBot rolls a 15 on 1d50, so the 15th worst scoring squad of completed runs would have a team make it into the tournament.
Just an idea. I do admire coaches who finish what they start, and who add true diversity to the box by playing their lower tier teams to completion. Cheers. |

This is a great idea for us middling coaches! |

Aint the idea of gauntlet that its not for all and just for winners ?
I think theres enough tournaments already that are open to all.
(Personally never get even 15 games in so dont compete there) |

Nice idea. Steel Trophy does feel like an open competition turning into a closed party sometimes. |
