NCBA 7s is a BCL developmental league. It has indirect interactions with the major leagues.
Current 7s rules on an 11s pitch and kickoff events (cannot be changed). 7s compliant field will be provided to you.
600k budget
RR cost is multiplied by a factor of 2
Naming convention: US colleges, fictional bloodbowl univserse universities, and institutions of higher learning outside of the US irl. In other words, Lyonesse Tech, Notre Dame and Cambridge are all legal names. Not region locked.
Team types: standard and (fair) SL teams.
Leader: Leader is not allowed
Fouling: Fouling is allowed
Roster Composition: 11 players max, up to 4 of which are positionals
Kickoff setup: 0 on LOS 1 allowed in each widezone but x3 on the 7s line of the field you will be provided further back than LOS.
Inducements: everything goes besides infamous staff or star players.
Player Graduation: 4 skilled players will be added to the BCL draft.
Redshirting: x1 player with x4 skills or more stays in college--you may redshirt into perpetuity. If you redshirt you may not employ advanced scouting.
Advanced Scouting: A major team may send a sevens player of their choice to their major league team. A team that employs advanced scouting may not employ redshirting.
Implications of Redshirting and Advanced Scouting Rules: Coaches that only play 7s are advantaged in the sense that they will always elect to redshirt but their major league coach counterpart that plays in both leagues will likely use advanced scouting.
Round Length: During the season coaches must play their game within a 2 week period, no penalty associated with forfeiting, penalty associated with being uncommunicative.
Season Format: 5 conference matches, x1 nonconference match, bowl games + playoff postseason.
Rivalries: spp awarded for perms and death consistent with BCL--paired rivals will always be in the same conference.
Excel Bench: You may place 7 players onto the excel bench for safe keeping from season 2 booster repurchase. Players with x4 skills on the excel will still be sent to the draft.
Transfer Portal Draft: Prior to a season, fired players such as those with injuries automatically enter the transfer portal (injuries disappear in the portal), prior to a new season you have x the number of transfer portal picks as the amount of players that you have sent there. You may also elect to send players there regardless of condition. Draft order is completely RANDOM. To be clear you may have 3 picks and receive the first 3 picks—just like in real life!!
Booster repurchase: After the transfer portal draft, skill TV is zeroed out on your roster prior to the new season--if your team is worth 600k or below you are ready for the new season--601k and above you must cut players rr etcetera to be at 600k or below. Afterwards your skill TV is turned back on after you are eligible for the next season.
