The weirdest experience I had on FUMBBL in this regard was when the opposing coach was a political activist, who insisted that I write to my Prime Minister on a particular (quite technical) topic. He was very insistent. When I said I had no interest in so doing, he became very whiny and accusatory - did not stop for the whole of the rest of the game. At great length.
Spoilt the game entirely for me. I did not report the matter to the admins, but would do so nowadays. |
This happened to me as well a couple of years ago. Perhaps we had the same opponent?
I wasn't too disturbed as it was about a topic I actually support (fight against climate change or something related).
But I get it, you come here to play a game of bloodbowl, not to get sucked into a political discussion... |

however, terrible politics could result in technical issues connecting to FUMBBL. this would bea scary, but possible, scenario.
...is there a way to calculate the odds of it? on a D20 perhaps? |

Ok, so now, my opponent just dropped the game because I KOed his Fungus the Loon... Fun times...
EDIT: Nevermind, seems it was a connection issue. |

I could've sworn I remember this coach from way back as well...I just remember humoring him for a bit 'til the match ended though lol.
Kinda hilarious that's the one thing he was known for, we should get a running tally going for coaches who encountered him. |

I had some bad experiences too but i was able to calm down the situation quickly. I remember a coach (I think in an Open game) become upset because I was fouling every two turns (I was playing snots and I had a sneaky guy). He becomes aggressive but I explained him that was nothing personal that is normal when you play snots to foul , I would even say is essential for survival. At the end he understood.
If I see that the guy is relatively new to Fumbbl in this case- even if good manners and education are important- I don’t report these case and I try to resolve within the chat.
But if he insists or if I would meet an experience users in Fumbbl being rude I don’t tolerate bad manners and I would report to staff.
Have to say that I had very few games where I experienced this. |

For Bluegill87 and Bram -
The coach was French (which I speak). I forget his FUMBBL name. The technical/political subject was soil degradation, especially in Africa. It was maybe a couple of years ago. |

Yeah must've been different from the one we encountered. I remember that climate change pitch he was hard up to sell.
Like I said though, it was humoring him and nodding my head to a lot of his rhetoric that got me through that relatively headache free. |

Well, well, well... I met my 2nd rude and whiny player... In 12 matchs...
Constant whinings about his bad luck or my good luck (while he did some "dumb" moves like blocking with his big guy first that led him into a double skulls + wasted reroll...).
Constantly trying to downplay me, saying I'm just lucky and I don't play well because I had 2/4/5 but he was better because he has more thant 2000 matches.
In the end, he said to "go to bed with your mommy"... I'm not sure he means that I'm a kid or something more obscene though... |

Report him, that way you will reduce the chance of repeating the unpleasant experience. |

Yeah, well whatever. I just don't care about the chat anymore. I'll just play with the lower part of the client outside my screen now.
I began to use FUMBBL to train and get better but there is just too much negativity on the chat, it's plain annoying. |

Beware of playing with the hidden chat: if your opponent writed something important (such as: "Emergency, I need some minutes, BRB" or stuff like that) you could not read it.
Report chat abusers, you could not care about them, but they could offend other people.
Whining can be ok, as long as it doesn't get personal and offensive.
If you don't like whining, kindly tell your opponent to refrain from it. If they keep on and get rude and annoying then report them. |

Well, If the guy isn't playing for some minutes, I'll check the chat, sure. |
