What people didn't like about Ageing mechanic (according to some friends of mine who played with it for a while years ago) was the chance to age at the very first or second level up, too early.
Starting to roll the Ageing at third level up would have been better and more realistic. |

But the Casualty Table is worse than before, with BH shifted to 37.5%. |

About people never being happy:
- with open play and no Season, freak teams can be built and that's bad for the balance (especially with the current level up system);
- with Re-Draft teams grow and shrink and that's bad, because it makes people lose the motivation to build and customize the players and lose the psychological "reward" of the growth game after game; getting some skills doesn't feel that good if you know your players have a 15-30 games expiration date. Moreover, teams look all pretty much the same, adding a boredom factor to the games.
The good compromise would be limiting the skill slots and the stat boosts (so there can't be too much development of individual players) and let people play hovering with their teams, adopting these reworked tables, if players' turnover must be increased:
Injury Table (2D6)
2-8: Stunned
9-10: KO (Thick Skull turns KO into Stunned on 4+)
11+: CAS
Casualty Table (D16)
1-8: Badly Hurt
9-10: Seriously Hurt (MNG)
11: Seriously Injured (1 NI)
12: Seriously Injured (2 NIs)
13-14: Lasting Injury (-Stat)
15-16: Dead |

The point is: people don't necessarily hate a mechanic per se and on principle, they don't like it when it's badly designed. |

Your point is futile, simply because there never was, there never is, and there will never be a consensus about what is badly designed and what is not.
The only way is to adapt to the rules as GW sets them.
Of course in your private league you can and probably will reach a consensus about your preferred houserules. But in a public environment this is just a gigantic waste of time. |

Even Blood Bowl games are a gigantic waste of time, yet we still play them. We do many things for the sake of it. I often have more fun talking about rules than playing games. |

And we're off If memory serves, Mattdakka vs JanMattys should be good for about another 17 pages |

we should ask Big C to make two star players that deletes each other if they're on opposite sides, but are controlled by a random spec if they're duplicates. you have to hope that only yours one shows up! |

Leagues like OLC. |
...
I do still like low TV enough that I play a fair amount of C, but my favorite way of playing is just gone now. My favorite team to play was my humans back in CRP that played several hundred games in Box.
...
|
These humans?
Bring them over to the O[L]C
Play them in 2016 now and hopefully migrate them to 2020 in all their glory. Not cut to1350. |
Psh, no, those humans have barely 100 games.
These boys were my pride and joy. |

This was uncalled for. I wasn't starting a flame war (nor was I trying). I'll just shut up now if me back to posting is perceived as such. |

The site wants to and should adhere to the rules of the game as closely as possible. However, the agent fee should go up by 10k each season if GW wrote the rules well. I will leave it at that, because I have many issues with the tweaks that were decided upon by the company. |
