boohoo... the player who comes rostered with blodge and leap, moves 8, and dodges on a 2+ can't also be the best passer at rookie level... |

With PA 3+ a Wardancer would not be the best passer at rookie level. If Orcs have PA 4+, every Elf should have PA 3+, at least. It's a bug of the ruleset, using a D6 to work out passes, when another mechanic could be used.
Leap has been nerfed, by the way, and nerfed too much.
It could have been an unmodified 4+ with AG 2+, instead of the old 3+. |

Just make high elf and wood elf throwes pro elf thrower price.
I for one hated elf catchers and gutters being better passers than throwers before.
Luv.

I share MerryZ feeling there. I like the idea that there are dedicated throwers, that can really throw a ball... and others that cannot (that well).
And I also think that you need some leaver to differentiate the rosters. Giving a human AG2 to allow him a 2+ pick up, instead of a 3+ means an Elf would either do the ball handling only as good as a human or he gets AG1+ which will only be beneficiarry during rain or in TZs because a natural 1 is always a fail.
So not that easy.
But overall I share the thought that ball handling and especially passing should be un-nerfed a bit. |

Has there ever been a BB version with "pass" dice?
It would be great if there was a skill that gave a 2D throw, like a 2D block.
Obviously you still need to catch the pass but... |

I was not referring to Wildly Inaccurate. Nobody likes that . |

You are right that the immersion suffers from that, but I think it is "grounded" in excellent game design. The chance to not pick up the ball makes the game overall more interesting, often the decision that you could afford NOT to spend a Re-Roll on the pickup is the start of your offence going wrong. So I take less immersion for a better game. And for this it helps me to say to myself: this is funny, like in real sports if a player fails an action that supposedly should be no problem.
Also I would not consider a Human Lineman a professional athlete but just a rough guy, who has no better career options than getting beaten up on the pitch. The professionals have Sure Hands. |

I like that idea. Not with a skill to give a 2d throw, but Compare the PA stat to the distance + tackle zones similar to strength when making a block. And have different deviations on the dice. Give more catchers something like diving catch, the ability to catch in their tacklezone maybe even with moving into that square. |

Tomb Kings in the rain, failed 15x pickups and lost the game.. I did not enjoy that at all
I'd like something like: If you start activation adjacent to the ball and aren't marked, you get a bonus +1
Failed pickups are part of the game, so it'd affect the meta, makes it harder for ball hawks like skaven, elves, vamps. and make it easier for .. everyone else. which is the wrong direction for game balancing probably... elves etc need more help elsewhere
2D6 for passing seems like it could be a reasonable idea |

Second edition actually used 2D6 for passing. |

Nobody likes the wildly accurate rules, and we all hope that it gets removed or changed to calculate deviation from the receiver and not the thrower.
Next edition this year, perhaps next. Until then, let's cope by playing Nurgle. |

With all the weird throwing happening, I just blame the fluff about how bloodbowl ball looks like. |
