just a quick spin off, as Laviak just mentioned proving your team is best... here's an idea our local bowling league is using, to make things more competitive. you use a pyramid format, and continuousl compete with each other to be at the top of the pyramid. you can only challenge someone who is higher than you in the pyramid, and you can accept challenges from people lower than you in the pyramid.
now, if you combine and conform this to the ladder challenge points, you could have 2 standings, your existing ladder system, and your challenge pyramid format. expand the challenge period to 2 weeks (maybe) and u can challenge the ppl higher than u in the pyramid. this would encourage people to accept challenges (esp if declining the challenge meant demotion in the pyramid, tho abusable), and would give an extra element of competitiveness, to prove your team is the best, as lavak well said...
now, this is a basic outline of the idea, and as i'm no computer specialist i don't know how easy it would be to set up something like this, or how easily open to abuse it would be. something in the lines of challenges accepted or declined always leans towards abuse...
anyway, tis just an idea to keep you going, which may help enhance ladder a bit... |

Can someone tell me, if I have negative challenge points, how do I get that back to 0 or positive so I can make challenges? Do I have to wait for someone to challenge me and play that match? |

Wallace: yes you have to wait for someone to challenge you. If you have 0 Ladder points then nobody can challenge you but you can still play scheduled games in Ladder and gain Ladder points from wins to boost up your chances of getting a challenge sent your way. Also, consider putting something in your bio to encourage people in similar time to challenge you or perhaps let people know if you are nto available. |

Yeah just did the bio thing (for my team at least) I got the -1 challenge points because I declined a challenge from someone who lives the other side of the world and didn't check with me if I would be able to arrange a time to play the game. Didn't realise declining would lose me the point.
I would actually reccomend that everyone check if the other coach has a chance of ever playing you before you make a challenge regardless of what might be said in the bio. Even if you live in the same town you never know if someone is going to be away for a few weeks or whatever.
Thanks for the info Celas |

You can also use the gamefinder. It is very possible to find some games that way. |
