Ranked Amateurs are on an ever-expanding mission. It started out as a quest to play the whole grid with one team, but we did that and it didn't feel all that special. Then we set out to beat the grid, and we did it! It was a little more special-feeling, but it still left a hole. Now, we've nearly completed our next mission, to kill a player of every race (the "Equal Opportunity" badge: we just need a Norseman), and we're looking ahead to what's next.

What's next is, we give something back.

We're embarking on a two-pronged quest, in earnest once we kill a Norseman. First, our goal is to see how long it takes us to lose to the grid. Second, our goal is to raise money for FUMBBL. So, here is the plan.

For every team race from Amazons, Dark Elves, Elves, Goblins, Halflings, High Elves, Skaven, Underworld, Vampires, and Wood Elves that beats Ranked Amateurs for the first time by midnight server time January 1st, I'll donate $3 USD (this is dirt-poor Jackass talking, $30 is real money to me). But that's not all: several other coaches have joined this pledge so we can raise, you know, actual cash money!

I'll take challenges from teams of these races, at least about one every week or 10 days, probably more around the beginning and end of this challenge. I won't take stupid matches, and I won't play any differently, but I'll happily play up TV sometimes, within reason. If you challenge us and win, it's even more fun if you also give $5 to FUMBBL, though that's not required.

If you want to join this campaign, just reply here! We'll take all who come! If you want to challenge the Amateurs, reply here and bring some pine boxes for your boys, 'cause I'm playing for money!

Great game! Pubstar got the best of us early, but we pulled off the tie on the awesomeness of Edward Grottybrook, who is now 1 SPP shy of the all-time Human Lineman top spot.

My High Elves are up for it. Most week nights 19.00-21.00 ( not Friday). Weekend more flexible.

Took off the $5 donation thing to get more challengers: now it's optional. Also, cdassak has challenged us with Elves or Dark Elves, so that should be fun. Will post challenge dates and times when we sort them out.

We take on luxyluxo's Lothern Sea Guards at 19:30 today! Then we're tentatively booked to take on one of cdassak's teams (Fragility Warriors, Go-Go Gobbos, or Darla Dida Da Dark) at 19:30 Saturday.

If I don't lose to Go-Go Gobbos tomorrow. Razz

TBH, Goblins and Underworld are the toughest matchups left for us. It's not the little guys, it's that they have good removal (I'd put Amazons 3rd for this reason). We match up really well vs rats and elves.

@ Jimmy: I figured people would back competitive teams/coaches with money if there were some kind of schadenfreude involved. You played Ogres, others could feel your pain; I'm paying out on losses, others can root for the underdog.
