Discovered wargames when I was 15 and was instantly hooked, I didn't even have to play any games - I just knew that this was one thing I wanted to try out. Got a few games, deciphered the rulebooks and started playing ASAP.
Then I got a RPG rulebook (D&D) thrown at me with the comment "I don't understand this but I want to play, can you try to read it?". Three days later we had our first roleplaying session with me as a very green DM...
Has never looked back since, but just kept on trying all kinds of games - RPG's, Wargames (with ASL, World in Flames and the Europa series as a few of my favourites), Computer games, Card games (Magic), and a few other games that are harder to classify - like the 1830 series, Settlers of Cataan, and of course Bloodbowl!
