Khemries blog: Black Cup G1. Pre-game analysis
This analysis is posted after the game. Day or few later, I will post post-game analysis.

So, my Khemries entered Black Cup. First opponent - Legendary Infestation.

In general, Nurgles are tough opponent for Khemries. They often has some bench (and can get extra rotter in course of the game), all positionals have regen, 5 4+STR players, claws access. And super annoying Foul appearance. This skill reduces TGs blocks, and increase amount of blocks against TG. Rerolling FA often is terrible idea, especially with blockless TG. And that TG probably will be blocked next turn. No win situation for TG :(

Lets have a closer look.

Opponent team

BoN(brand new)
4x NW. 1 new, 1 almost new (only block), block/dodge, and CLPOMB Frenzy legend.
2x Prestigors. Legend and almost Legend. Block/dodge probably ball carrier, another with Frenzy - blitzer.
7x Rotters. Kick, Leader, and 2x DP.
14 total.

2x RR
9FF, AC+CL.

1880 TV. My TV is lower, 1860k. So, 50k into Pettty cash, and I get free Babe. Sweet.

Injuries

3x -AV, 1x Ni.
-AV on PO legend NW. Good. Plz PO.
-AV on DP rotter. Not bad.
Ni on legend prestigor. Let's hope my POMB will get a chance to blitz him.
-AV on kick rotter. Meh.

Rerolls

He has 2+leader, I have 3+leader. Kick-off event RR will probably go to him (more FF, and AC+CL)
On the bright side, he doesnt have dedicated ball carrier. Lets hope it will eat reroll or few.

Players & Skills

Bad news: He has more players, and more damage skills. So, this team can outlast me. Very bad, if main time will end 1-1 or 0-0.
Great news: no Guard on my opponent team. He will some problems setuping 2D blocks vs my TG's. Especialy with Frenzy players.
My SF/DT B-Ra should be pain for his Ball carrier. I should keep him away from NWs.

Game plan

Kick first, deep. He has no Guard, so I can set up 3TG on LOS, without giving him 2D blocks (best he can do - 1D with BoN, you will see exact setup on reply). Bad kick off events may screw my defense: Quick Snap, Throw a rock, Pitch invasion. Let's hope my setup will be surprise.
Force him split or start caging deep into backfield. Give skellie for skilless NW and BoN. A lot of contact and block from the start (lets hope he will burn RRs). Main POMB Blitz targets - prestigors and leader rotter. Divide and concure tactic vs NW (I will probably give a lot of 1D rolls vs TG's. Let's hope he rolls skulls early).
Main goal: defend from TD in 1st half and win 0:1.
Secondary goal: kill legend.

My analysis:

His game plan kinda worked. TG's I don't care too much about. They're too slow on defense to be much of a problem, as was shown by my late first half ability to get the ball into the end zone; despite both my beast of nurgle, and my legendary nurgle warrior being taken out early.

His game kinda failed, in that the only thing I managed to successfully do during the ENTIRE GAME was remove his SF/DT Blitz-ra.

I did manage to get the ball into the end zone. However, in an effort to avoid a series of MB blocks on my players, I tried to score one turn early, and attempted a GFI.. which I failed. And the re-roll failed. And then my pick up on turn 8 failed.


The second half saw the khemri game plan come to fruition - every single KO'd nurgle player stayed sleeping (including the legendary nurgle warrior, and the blodging super star pestigor), and then 2 more nurgle players went to sleep due to heat (both nurgle warriors), and despite my whopping 1 foul after getting the ref, the bribe was ignored and the player was banned. Add in the niggled Beast and the cas-ed rotter, and I started the second half with.. 7 players (5 of whom were rotters). The khemri started with 10, and cas-ed my legendary pestigor with a rookie skeleton.


Not a single damage skill on my team actually did anything, except cause KO's or stuns that woke up. The only cas came from rookies.

I don't think you can get an extra rotter during the game. The free zombie for undead/necro goes straight to reserves, but I think the rotter only comes into play the next game, after an incubation period.

Also, players with regeneration are immune to Nurgle's rot, so in your case he couldn't have anyway.

Good blog and interesting game.
A little bad dicing for nurgle perhaps, could have been 1-1 if that gfi had worked...
