Losing and nuffling or being nuffled.
I don't like losing.
If I happen to have an enjoyable game, then it's ok. Still not thrilled about losing, but I had fun, so it's not a big deal. If I managed to learn something from it or gave a valiant effort, I can even walk away from the loss feeling good.
Being nuffled is something else. For example, a thrown rock on the opening kickoff kills one of my players before either of us has even taken a turn. Then the opponent's first turn results in 4 more of my guys off the pitch, badly hurt or worse. No mighty blow or claw or anything like that involved, just simple bad luck. Unless my opponent is just incredibly less skilled than I am, the game is lost before I even move my first player. I'm not really going to learn anything except that I don't like the feeling of helplessness that comes from being outnumbered 2 to 1. I accept that it's part of the game and I congratulate my opponent and move on, but I still do not like it.
If I win because my opponent gets nuffled in the same way, I also walk away not feeling very good about it. It doesn't bother me nearly as long because, hey, I still got a win out of it, but it does bug me.
The reason I mention this is because it's the cut from the other side of the double edged sword. Pulling off an amazing luck play in the last turn is one of the most fun, most exciting things in the game for me. Going for it to do a 1 die block on the ball carrier, picking the ball up with an orc blitzer, throwing to a marked orc and making the catch, dodging out and going for it to score. Just. Too. Fun. Flashes of good luck and flashes of bad luck make the game fun. An entire match of it just... isn't for me.
And yes, I'm rambling because it's late and I'm drunk.

I just had a match go from a real fun fight to a complete effing mess in one single turn. I understand. It isn't fun when being done over by Nuffle's ire.
And now I get to practice team management once more as I rebuild yet another team.

I agree, with one small exception. If those single cool moves becomes a pattern, like that you always tend to lose close matches due to the opponent completing such moves in the end of the matches, then they aren't really fun either.
I'm not very skilled at mathematics, but it seems odd to me that the matches often turn out so one sided. It's almost more often than not that one team gets pretty much all the breaks on the crucial rolls while the other one doesn't. The skill mostly seem to revolve around limiting the effects of the luck in many matches.
It's still a great game though, otherwise I wouldn't still be here despite so much frustration :)

Try playing a Khemri opponent having insane luck for the whole game, and still almost loses the game, due to what i have to see as deliberatly bad play. And then the opponent wins by 2-0 by 2 times succesfully picking up the ball passing (thro-ra, but still) without any rr and catching it.
Then you REALLY feel nuffled... (btw i did by all means try to limit my luck rolls, and he did his best to push for failing! luck in the game ended: 44% 72% his luck stayed around 70-80 and mine went up in the 2nd half. from 36%)
