A few days without a blog post now, since I've been laid low with illness. But I've played the missing matches and brought the countdown back on schedule -the writeups for those are coming as soon as I find time to sit down with the replays.
Today's match, between my
San Francisco Night Owls and Jos75's Zuchtbullen is not one with any lessons to teach as far as I can see, unless it is on how to remain composed in the face of Nuffle's whim. I have never conceded a match on FUMBBL but I am only slightly ashamed to say that I strongly considered doing just that around turn 4 of this one.
Despite an auspicious start where my opponent turned over and I was able to steal the ball in turn 1, this match was an absolute shellacking: Had my opponent bothered to foul, he might easily have cleared the pitch before the end of the first half. A Blitz in the second half added insult to injury and crushed all hopes of hanging on to a draw. No lasting harm done to vampires, but two skilled thralls died and a rookie needs replacement, in addition to 4 MNGs. The result was inevitable - a
2-0 LOSS.
