Despite warnings, I bought the new Cyanide Blood Bowl game because I wanted to try it out and because I like the LRB5 rules much better than LRB4.
But boy oh boy, what a dissapointment.
The overview of the board and players in the turnbased multiplayer is awful. Just a few examples:
You can't see the entire board, so you have to scroll forward and backwards much of the time.
And you can't see how many SPP your players have unless you set an ugly info-text above every player on the board. And when you do that its hard to click on your players, because you can't click on this text.
And you can't see the log with dice rolls at the same time you have the chat window open. So there was hardly any chat in the games I played.
The different cameras and zoom are funny the first game, but are also completely confusing, so I turned them off.
The game loads sooo slowly, and the pace of the game is also slow because you have to wait for the stand up, dodge and block animations and scoring cutscenes, that you can't turn off.
The graphics is ok, but that helps little when it's hard to tell the distance between players without putting an ugly blue/yellow grid on the pitch, which ruins the cool grapichs.
The singleplayer part is ridicolous, because the AI is so horrible. F.ex. the AI doesn't seem to notice which turn it is, so in turn 7 it doesn't bother to move at least one player within scoring range. And I played a game vs. a rookie skaven team who put 9 players on the LoS when kicking...
And finally the new realtime game is chaotic, have little to do with blood bowl (it's more chaos league in blood bowl skin) and not funny at all IMO.
The only good thing about the game is the good old turnbased gameplay of Blood Bowl - and that is the only thing Cyanide didn't make themselves...
If you think I'm too pessimistic then check this review from Gamespot:

In short they write that Blood Bowl is a funny game (well, we knew that), but that the menus, overview and technical design of the game sucks. Their conclusion is that only Blood Bowl fans should play the game, which is a wrong conclusion. Blood Bowl fans should stay here on Fumbbl.
And I guess that I and other LRB5-fans will have to wait for the new LRB5 client here on fumbbl. Which by the way already looks very promising. So thanks for the work you're doing on that.
