One Hundred Games on FUMBBL
Hi guys,

So I'm pretty new here; looking at a lot of the veterans on here who've lost many more games than I've played, I feel pretty small timey.

However, we all have to start somewhere, right? I recently passed my 100th game on this delightful platform, and thought I'd reflect on some highlights from those games.

3 and a half seasons of Salty Cod BBL, including a league runner up and two defeats in playoff finals (with three different teams). Season 4 is currently underway and I'm applying my usual strategy of losing my early games, slowly picking up momentum and (hopefully) being on top form by the time the playoffs start.

One appearance in the FUMBBL Cup, vs graisonstark and his Pupies, which I lost in overtime.

Best TD in these 100 games was actually in one of my first ever games, vs proff70. An absolute delight of an opponent, and I felt a bit guilty about the bullshit run of dice I pulled off to salvage a 1-1 draw that I definitely didn't deserve.

Only a few games in the Blackbox Trophy, which I feel is an area I need to work on to improve my breadth of experience. I've had an entry in the last few BBTs, and I seem to have an issue of not being able to commit to completing the games for a BBT season. One day I'll complete a full 15 game season with a team in BBT, and one day I'll complete the full 60 game season with all four teams! Cheerleading and motivation are most welcome for the above.

Game 100 was against one of my favourite opponents, lovely man AWT. I suffered some hideous luck to mark the occasion - he outright killed two of my Dwarf blockers with the first two blocks of the game -_- I managed to keep things close after this, despite the numerical disadvantage, and even came close to an equaliser in a 1-0 loss.

Overall record from my first 100 games on here was 33-17-50. In that time, I've faced international standard players, Eurobowl winners, noobs, and everything in between. Not great but not terrible either! I aim to keep improving as a BB coach, and keep expanding my knowledge of this vast and complex game. Hope to see you in a BB game sometime soon!

I was reading this with a smile, and ready to say something like, welcome to the community and all that. Then I read that sentence about your "dwarf blockers," and I was like, oh no, a dwarf coach ... may Nuffle curse your dice from here on out.

Just kidding. It's great to hear about your experience so far! Here's to the next 100.

And I actually like dwarves too. It's just as someone who's probably coached more elves than any other team (I think), it's expected that I say something negative about those hard-headed little fellows. (See, I just called them 'little'--can't help but get in a last dig.)

@gettym I am actually a card-carrying Dwarf-hater like yourself! I think 7 of my games have been with dwarves so far. SCBBL is a group of friends who do back,to-back league seasons - it's a good environment to try new things in a comfortable environment. Each season I try to challenge myself with a team I'm not used to.
