It's a water bottle. We got very inventive hiding them on set between takes - my own particular preference was under corpses.

Btw, that's not a bucket, it's my helmet! I note the little tuft of tissue poking out of my hand - I discovered I was quite allergic to the (deliberately) dirty costumes.
