Sick of Concessions
As title says, I really cannot stand concessions anymore.
I just get another one after only 4 turns of a STUNTY game Link Removed

Everybody get diced, even the "lucky coaches" (and I consider myself one of them).
But in almost 3000 games I've never conceded.

Is it that difficult to take this game less seriously?

I suggest to all these bad losers to leave this website, or at least keep the Stunty Leeg free from their presence! :D

I wish that stupid button could disappear soon!

Take care and remember that this is a GAME!

Concessions in stunty, especially first half, are pretty silly as you nearly always have at least a chance, with a bit of luck.

It was a costly concession for him as well, he lost a blockle troll because of it.

Concession in stunty is for babies, right :D
Posted by Roland on 2014-10-10 13:57:12
wow, two in a row... how unlucky

Concessions are not punished with harsh penalties so people concede on a whim, it's a logical consequence.
Stunty Leeg is a joke anyway, a supposed "for fun and giggles division" featuring rampant cherrypicking, so sad.

@Roland, I said that I'm one of the "Lucky coaches", I was not ironic, I really think I am!

@MattDakka, Stunty is not "supposed" to be a for fun and giggles division, it is! The few coaches who always play stunty do it because they love blood and they love massacre, that's it! I've lost tons of games because I was focusing on killing my opponent more than trying to score (as well as won loads for the same reason).

3 concessions in over 200 matches, you poor boy...
Posted by gamelsetlmatch on 2014-10-10 16:02:39
Maybe if you played a team that hasn't already proven to be overpowered (Chaos Halflings) for the Stunty division and YOU played for fun...your post would warrant a little empathy.

@Overhamsteren, ehm sorry?

@gamelsetlmatch, This my first attempt to play Chaos halflings with the new rules, there are coaches with far more CH games than me. CH is the race of all stunty I played MOST against... what's your problem again?

@Ryld: You are a lucky so-and-so, still mad about the SC semi final. :D

@Matt: Thanks for coming out. Have fun playing "real" BB, torturing people with methodically planned out 4 minute turns. :P

@g|s|m: be Glad he wasn't playing Smashing to Oblivion, probably the nastiest team in all of Stunty for killing stuff. William Walcas and a wall of Dirty Players.

Re: Concessions in Stunty, it sucks. You could report it, or move on and play again. I'm not sure what the exact solution is with coaches who don't get the spirit of Stunty. I know some games when I am getting reamed and tired I want to concede, but won't.

You faced 3 concessions in you last 200+ games and made a whiny blog about it, just voicing my sympathy. :P

Take your own advice, Ryld: remember that this is a game.
It is an activity whose only purpose is the facilitation of fun. Stunty, more so.
As soon as it stops being fun (and there are a variety of reasons it might, many of which have nothing to do with the you or the game) it is very hard to build an argument for continuing. Sure, you can say "I know you're not having fun, but please spend your next hour allowing me to have my fun", but that's a pretty tall order that we would never accept in any other context. In general, I think that's why it's important to play in such a manner that your opponent can still feel like they're in the game, even if they're being crushed. I enjoy playing with the 'threat' of the opponent's concession, because it encourages not playing in what I'd consider an unsportsmanlike manner.

I think concessions are pretty rare in Stunty, but I've done it a couple times–– once for self-preservation, and once when my opponent was being very rude while also dicing me.

My advice would be: If it's very important to you that your opponent doesn't concede, make sure you have really good chat. Funny conversation can make anyone sit through anything.

I get the sense the site has lightened up on coach sanctions for such things. I recently had to leave a game for 10+ mins due to a connection problem and my opponent took the opportunity to drop out and ask admins to null the game, since he "didn't have time to finish it." They did, no questions asked. The next morning he was back playing (which I could have done as well, it was a weekend). The fact that he had just suffered a turnover didn't enter into the discussion for some reason... I think as volunteers the admins get tired of constantly adjudicating and users begin to take advantage. Anything to preserve that Legend tag, right.

ive conceded in stunty and in ranked when being diced but this is only when there's a silent opponent who doesn't make the game enjoyable ....playing ryld the other day we had an amazing game and that was mostly cause of the chatting i enjoyed it immensely having a good chat makes me stay being diced or not
Posted by SerenadeOfSorrow on 2014-10-10 18:08:33
but i also would like to note that when i concede im reported someone conceded against me in turn 2 of 1st half an i let it go if there not feeling the game there not feeling it ..i am a well known whiner lol i freely admit it but people like ryld crook etc keep me calm just by chatting about stuff non related to the game and boom its all fun again SOCIAL NETWORKING FTW

Dude, I've been on the receiving end of about two pages of concessions. You just gotta take extra pride in forcing a concession, that's the only way to handle it. Oh, and write a match report really fast, maybe somebody will read it.

@WhatBall: "Thanks for coming out. Have fun playing "real" BB, torturing people with methodically planned out 4 minute turns. :P"
Actually it's Endzone that plays endless turns, I rarely play 4 minutes turns.

I usually report illegal concessions. But there's no point reporting concessions in S because the admins don't take any action. Unfortunate, but true. Nonetheless, in general, if you want to see less concessions, report all the illegal ones you see in R or B, whether you were playing in the game or not.

He lost a Troll with Block and Tackle because he conceded. Seems to me the system works fine.

less naming and shaming

To play a little devil's advocate, you killed a BG and his two best players (one ag5 and another +ST block) and he retired the team after.

Not saying it was the right call (it wasn't) but can see why he rage quit. Imagine it was more in dice rather than a slight on you.

It was an honour for me to break your run of concessions by giving you a beasting at the hands of my Snots. You took it like the gentleman that you are.
