Playing indoor soccer today, I'm the goalkeeper. I made the save, both hands controlling the ball, but an opponent came in late and stepped on my left hand in his efforts to score. The ball came loose, and I reached out with my right hand and gained clear possession of the ball, and the idiot starts kicking at it again! Whistle blew, and I got to my feet and yelled "What the F*CK!"

Sadly, I noted that my left ring finger was dislocated, and I couldn't fix it myself (I tried). 2.5 hours at the hospital yielded the result: fractured finger. Apocathery(1) FAILS!

I'm splinted now and have pain meds, and hope to get into the orthopedist tomorrow to evaluate and do whatever is necessary to repair.
