So here I sit, somewhere around a year before I first gave in and played Blood Bowl, after a decade or so of prodding from my gaming buddies.
I originally began playing Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40k around 1996, tossed in some Necromunda and Mordheim along the way, and generally had a good time of it. But I never gave in and tried BB - until 2009.
Man, what I'd been missing all along was probably the best tabletop game of all time. (and I'ma let you finish, but Blood Bowl is the best game of ALL TIME!)
So fast forwarding a bit, I've played on the actual tabletop one time, and that was under what I think is LRB3 - got hit hard with infatuation and ran out and found FUMBBL. I cut my teeth here a bit, just started getting used to the client and the rule set, then the Blood Bowl Digital game got released.
I've spent the last several months over there, main participating in a league or two, and only occasionally messing with the public league (unless I'm noodling with gobbos or experimenting with something).
Now I've hit the unfortunate snag of having my computer die (motherboard and power supply went *smush* on me, can't afford a new rig for awhile) - so I'm confined to playing on the 8 1/2 year old laptop that I've pulled out of mothballs. It has no chance of running any of my usual games, and I find myself in a very nasty Blood Bowl withdrawal phase.
So here I sit, reading through the site, trying to get used to the LRB4 rule set again, and re-learn how to use the FUMBBL java client.
Yes, I'm n00b v2.0
So on the very remote chance that anyone's read any of this, and even more remote chance that they've gotten this far - I'll see you in the Academy league for a bit while I readjust to this new-all-over-again environment.
I hope to be a credit to the league and provide worthy competition for my opponents. (and of course crush their hopes and dreams).
See you on the pitch.
