For whoever is interested in "Where did Gnomes come from?"
They really exist in the Warhammer World as a secluded or isolated race in the Empire. But often threated as a myth by mankind. When brave gnomes leave their hidden settlements they usually impersonate or pose themselve as halflings.
Information can be found in the "Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay" books (i.e. "Rough Nights & Hard Days" by Graeme Davis).
