I admit to not caring that he doesn't care.

I, personally, don't care either. However, commenting on this proves the lie to that.

I like coaches coming back after a while away. The more, the merrier, and the last thing returned absentees need is grumpy dorkshorts here taking out his dicing on them.

The thing about a Blog is, it's a blog ... it's a personal area to post diary like comments, for you to read if you want.

If it was showbn as a 'site announcement', then I can understand your frustration, but these kinds of 'I am taking a break', 'I have a bad game', 'I shouldn't eat a curry before playing BB' posts are sort of what i expect from a blog.
