Season Opener - Goreskovich's Slayers vs. Whips and Chainz, 4/19/09
In a thrilling finish, Whipz and Chainz held onto a slim 1-0 margin as star Dark Elf Blitzer T Sizzle laid a punishing hit on Fraks the Agile just yards from the endzone with one turn to play. The game was played under a somber mood after the unfortunate passing of Dwarf Longbeard Stout the Kegroller, who tripped over his dumb long beard while trying to block Dark Elf Lineman Big Clem, and fell and died of embarassment.

The first half provided plenty of excitement, however, as Rookie Thrower Joe Theunflaccoble threw his first career interception to Grimson Firehawk, and the Dwarves proceeded to run very slowly and squander their scoring opportunity.

Theunflaccoble would later leave the game with a Niggling Injury after trying to foul Dwarf Trollslayer Thorgral Redbeard, who responded by kicking him in the junk.

The lone touchdown of the game came on a breakaway run by Lineman Tem, who then proceeded to run up and down outside the endzone because the dwarves were too slow to catch up, and managed to run two turns off the clock. The dwarves thought they would have an opportunity to make up the difference when Gorestall Axedodger picked up the final kickoff and tossed it across the field to his fellow Runner, who broke for the endzone, only to be foiled by some end-of-game heroics by T Sizzle.

Memorial services will be held for Stout the Kegroller next Tuesday at his favorite tavern.
