The Java chat doesn't work on some browsers because the domain where the applet lives is different than the domain of the site. Chrome won't allow it to run due to security issues.

I used to use hydra irc. (I haven't redownloaded it since upgrading my pc a year ago, sign of the times). All I used to do was have a shortcut on my desktop and click the link on the community chat page to make it work.

I am using Hydra IRC....I am a NOOB (Boob?) when it comes to these things but was able to figure it out.

I use chrome so the applet will not load.

remove norton from your pc, it is garbage... use microsoft security essentials and dont click weird links and you should be fine.

Launch Hydra, File -> New Server -> Add Server -> description whatever, address irc.fumbbl.com, port 6667. Join, /join #fumbbl.

Be advised thou - nobody is using chat anymore since gamefinder was improved. Remember those "be there or be square - Fumbbl smack is recruiting, bitches!!!". You won't see that in chat anymore.

thnx popcorn but i failed i just dont get what to do with configering identities.... and then i dont find where to enter port or type where to join fumbbl...

Hmm, let's go step by step. You launch HydraIRC. Terrible software greets you with "Welcome to HydraIRC". Then, on top left, press File -> New Server. And then do what I told in previous post ;) Don't press "Edit identity", actually, ignore everything that has a word 'identity' in it - that's probably hackers trying to steal your life.

I'm running hydra and have no clue either. With the identy stuff I just filled in every field with my Fumbbl nick. ;)
Now after that you can click File->New Server (or in my case there's a plug with spark symbol right under File which is the same thing) and a "Connect" box will pop up, type in fumbbl.com where it says URI. It will connect you and a channel list will pop up, click "Populate List" choose the channel you like and click "Join".

Also once there you can go to Favorites->Add to favorites... and then for the future you can select the channel from the Favorites menu when you start Hydra and it'll take you directly to the channel.

You absolutely want to use your nickname - if you play Black Box and you join the channel it will actually notify you when your team is matched activating. Really keeps you from forgetting.
