And games can't be determined totally random in ranked (though I like the idea), because of the TV restrictions you face until having played a certain amount of games.

If you announced that anyone can join your game named "play", chances are it won't be a random entry, but rather the first person to look at your team, find his own team suited to beating yours, and entering. You'd be putting yourself into a perpetual cycle of being cherry-picked, which is worse than random match-ups in the Blackbox.

A bunch of people joining the same game would probably be pretty random but not very playable. :o
