Guilty SPP?
Does anyone else feel guilty when they come across a "coach" who doesn't actually know how to play? I don't mean a bad coach who makes bad errors of judgement but a player who actually doesn't know what the block die faces mean etc etc?

Confession: When I first started learning how to play, I would select the SKULL because it seemed like the deadly choice.

I think I played two matches like that before someone finally told me what the block dice meant. Whomp whomp.

I've come across it. I tell them the rules, because I want them to stick around. I then link them with any available info I can find, especially the 145 club. BB race stragedy, and ect. I've pm'ed many guys when I see that they are new to fumbbl, and BB in general. It's easy to tell from their past games and the scores they had vs specific coaches. I don't find it fun to beat up on defenseless individuals. I've encountered in the Box, where you can't avoid some coaches. I try to be pleasant and helpful.

no, i don't.

but I also do not take undue advantage of them, and as soon as I am 1-0 I will offer gentle 'coaching advices'.

I do try and help yet I also am quite new to FUMBBL so I'm not quite sure where to point them and I really don't have much patience so I try and explain things and then try and make them realize the mistakes by pointing them out (It's how I learned to play 40K and I was quite good at that) so they can get a tactical grasp of BB

And I don't mean, "Oh, you should of done that" But more of a "I can now try or do this because of what you just did" kind of mentoring as hand feeding doesn't help tbh

There is a couple coaches I try and avoid lately because the games are terrible. I dont know whether they just dont care or they are young and have no clue....but the games ARE quick. Unless they are playing a second game! lol

Every block, you are hoping that you only BH or KO the players...sucks.

I have tried to help a few people and was met with resistance or anger. I usually just ask them if something is confusing them, I can help them along....

Like Keggie, i usually link them to the 145 club and tell them how big the learning curve here is....

When that happens, I make sure to teach them to the best of my abilities. That way, I hope it's fortunate for them, rather than unfortunate, to have me as an opponent. It does take EVEN MORE time, but it feels like making a contribution to the site.

Are there really still players like that? My general experience on Fumbbl for the last two years in which I've played the open divisions seriously has been that even coaches with a really bad record usually know what a tackle zone and a 2d block is. You may be able to farm some SPP against them, but not excessively. We rarely see games that end 6-0 or higher in R or B, even with the top coaches we don't.

Yep, so I try to be helpful and give some advices.
Last time I offered a rookie my help (spending time explaining stuff during the match and offering him to play a League match to show him Skaven basics) he was apparently enthusiast and grateful, but, although I kept on asking when he was available, he never played with me.
People are weird sometimes.

I have never come across an opponent that didn't at least have a basic grasp of the rules. On the rare occasion I find an opponent that is worse than me, I am happy to take all the spps I can get. :)

I played a guy ages ago that had little or no knowledge of the game. He marched his dwarfs through three or four tackle zones and launched long bombs he would then throw 2 and even 3 dice blocks(not in his favour). The thing is he rolled a stream of 6 and pows like I have never seen. The game ended a draw at the end I was torn between laughter and tears :).That will teach me to pick on a noob.
