Dump Off in bb2020
Soooo, i was plying a fun game vs some Darkelves, and i declared a blitz on their ball-holding runner.
Because dumpoff happens before i rn over and hit, it failed, and i was able to pickup and run off with the player i declared a blitz with, is this a legal play?

Completely legal

Yep. Its the DO pass is better chance of success (due to no TZ on the passer) but the DO coach needs to make a value judgement on whether he makes the pass. You dont need to follow through with a declared blitz. This has been a rule for a long time.

Yeah, if your opponent is only a lowly Superstar, they're bound to make misplays like that.

Thanks for this! A nice surprise/harsh lesson in mastering new ruleset. I got a similar lesson when Foul Appearance froze my would-be blitzer in his tracks from across the field.

Early in the second half (maybe turn 3) I target his dump off runner. He chooses to dump off and the pass goes wild and lands on my guy blitzing who catches it. I now have the option in the client of hitting the witch elf my guy blitzing is stood next to instead (or of dodging to hit the runner). Should I have been able to hit the witch? If I had, would I have then been able to move too? (I dodged and went for the runner as I wasn't sure).

If you target a player with a Blitz either you may Block him or not, you could just Move (either way, your Blitz Action for the turn has been used). You could just Move the Blitzing player without blocking during the Move but, once you have declared your target, you can't switch on the fly and Block a different target.
If you could change your mind during the Move then declaring the target of the Blitz BEFORE performing the Blitz would not be required by the rules.

And, to specifically answer, no, you should have not been able to hit the Witch because she was not the declared target at the start of your Blitz.

Yeah Malmir you should probably report that because it looks like a bug.

Thanks guys - I have reported it.

@Malmir: block dice appeared for the witch but if you tried to hit her it would not have rolled anything. Maybe the only thing that needs fixing is removing the green dots from anything but the target of the blitz.
