House Rules and Misconceptions
Back when I started playing tabletop Blood Bowl in early 2003 or so, the group I joined to play it in had some pretty interesting and definitely balanced house rules:

- Skaven and Chaos were banned because you could take Spikes on a double

- Skills were selected at random using dice, because if elves got block and dodge they were unbeatable

- KOs gave you 1 spp, and casualties from fouls were worth 2 spp like normal casualties

- Big guys took up 2x2 squares of space

- The "at the start of any action" part of Jump Up referred to any action of any player on either team (incidentally, one of the persons interpreting the rules played Norse)

Despite the ridiculousness of those rules, thinking about those times makes me yearn for some tabletop BB again...

I was young and fragile back then (and the other guys seemed like 7 foot tall monsters) so I didn't question any of the rules. :D
