The Mary's Land Terrible Terrapins were overjoyed with announcement that they would be joining the NCBB as the newest member of the SMACK conference. Having finished with a 4/3/3 record in the Non-AQ, Mary's Land just missed the playoffs with some very close games down the stretch. The news of the conference alignment spread quickly through the campus with classes eventually canceled due to students pouring out of their buildings into the central greens chanting "MARY'S LAND! MARY'S LAND! MARY'S LAND!!!!".

"We're incredibly excited to be joining the SMACK," coach Lancelott was quoted in saying. "With teams like Bro-Hio, SUNY Buffalo, UNLV, Kieslev State, and UDUB... I don't know if there is a better conference in the country. It will be a tall order for our team to hang with such talented teams and we're more than motivated to get it done. Just wait and see what Mary's Land will do!"

Star David Damascus will certainly get a lot of attention this coming season, coming off a season where he scored a TD in every game except two. David has been training constantly and many have said that he looks even better this coming season. The team will certainly need him to produce those TDs against such a tough competition.

The beloved Harmony One-Love, coming off a season where she learned to throw a block, is also still nursing a lingering injury that was not able to be healed by the Slann priests in the off season. While this injury looms large over Harmony's upcoming season, the loveable Krox is trying to take it all in stride. "Injuries are part of this game, we must overcome." Clearly, Harmony's philosophy classes are giving her much needed perspective.

While this announcement brings much excitement, the school is concerned that the team will be thoroughly outclassed by the larger schools. Many are wondering if placement in such a competitive conference could end up spelling disaster for the new team? Time will only tell as the season starts and the blood starts flowing.
