Variety in Black Box
I have read people saying that they meet very different types of teams in Black Box, but in my 24 games in the Black Box I have met:
Khemri 4 times
Chaos 3 times
Dwarf 3 times
Orc 3 times

I think it's very hard to build a "weak" team when you meet a smashing team more than every second game.

So I hope some more coaches have the nerve to play ball playing teams :)
Variety makes Blood Bowl fun.

I don't think the point of Blackbox is to build a team, rather than to win games.

The w/d/l records for Elves and Rats in the box are quite good, as the bashers tend to build themselves in preperation mainly, to face other bashers.

However, because of the teams in Blackbox, whilst you may well win more games with agile teams, your TR will never climb high, or stay there for long.

If you want to build an agile team, then Ranked is possibly slightly more well suited, but if you want to win games, then you are in the right place.

I believe I have more blackbox games than any other coach (almost 1500).

The races are varied.

It is easier to win with agile teams, but harder to keep them.

So just get used to making new teams, until we go to LRB 5 or 6.

I play more for the variety and because I can't be bothered with picking and arranging matches. But, I play every race in the box and I don't like to retire teams unless it's absolutely necessary (like, bombed FF and 4 players) so I actually lose a fair bit.

100-150 you will see everything, variety starts dropping off, and after 200 you will see mainly the main culprits with an occasional elf team or something.

I can see what you mean about agile teams winning more. I would just like to play more agile vs. agile games.

I have played a lot of games in ranked and I am getting tired of fixing games (a lot of asking and little playing). That's why I like black box.

Well... Agile vs Agile is kinda lame I think. I like agile vs bash... but thats just me.

If you like agile vs agile, stay in ranked. The big wussies stay there :p

Had it been almost any other than BillB writing:"I like agile vs bash... "

I would have made a bet, that the coach would be on the bashing end rather than the agile end. But i DO know that BillB plays those hard matchups, but way to few do. :o)

Blackbox is not for the weak.

You clearly are WEAK.

Go sing 'heal the world' in Ranked with all the other hippies...

Okay I admit it. I'm a hippy! I prefer Flower Bowl but it never became a hit and there are no turnaments i can participate in so I'm stuck with the blood version ;,(

Could be worse, you could be a Communist

Blackbox is the "natural" Blood Bowl environment, untainted by match-dodging.

It's unsurprising (and also positive) that agility teams can't grow as big when they're not allowed to elfbowl.

Blackbox represents Blood Bowl a lot better than Ranked does.

Variety would be good. I like the box, but I agree its more bashing box than black box. To much blood, and not much bowl, but you learn how to survive :)
