Let me preface this by saying I am complete noob. I don't know what all the skills do, and I haven't even read the LRB in its entirety, because my girlfriend is ridiculously hot and needy. You do the math.

Anyway, on to business. With 30 Ranked games under my belt, I feel I am now capable of offering my opinion on this.

The RNG isn't broken, because I can't win. It is that plain and that simple. I haven't won a game in the last 15 tries.

Good positioning of your players far outweighs the effect of the dice. I know this because my players are always out of position, never in a good spot to make a play on the ball, isolated and getting beaten down by elves, isolated and getting felt up by disgusting goblins, isolated and getting fouled by zombies, getting pushed into the crowd by bull centaurs, and all manner of things that are good for my opponents and not for me.

I have won exactly 3 games. Analyzing those wins, I can say that in two of them I played a bit better than usual (or was just in slightly better position to make a play), and in one of them my opponent conceded on the fourth or fifth turn when he didn't get all the pows he wanted (what a tool).

I have had fun in all the games that I've lost with the exception of one. The only reason I didn't enjoy that one was because my opponent whined like a small girl (my apologies if you ARE a small girl), confessed his love for his pixels, erm, players, and his lack of feeling for mine, fouled me on turn 16 with the lead, and then left without even the token 'gg'.

And the games that I've won? They were the same amount of fun, with the exception of the concession. This is why my shocking ineptitude on the pitch doesn't really bother me. The observant among you will note that my opponent got his first win for his team in this game. Just by playing me. :-)

So think of me when next your fingers are poised to type some long-winded diatribe about the dice screwing you, how your opponents are luckier than a pack of leprechauns, and how you must find a way to appease Nuffle. Take some responsibility. Think about better positioning and you'll get better results, and you'll ALWAYS beat fools like myself. Frankly, if your win percentage is better than 50%, I would say you are doing just fine. The high quality of coaches on FUMBBL makes the dudes in my old table-top league look like a bunch of neanderthals.
