another night, more lessons
updated my game reports for anyone that's interested, not too exciting really but heh, it's better than no comments : )
well another night of fumbbl last night, another few lessons
firstly that sometimes cherries that pick themselves taste sour. Against the elfs last night my team was far superior, far too much block and Str for the elfs to really stand up. I didn't pick the game but i had a vamp out and wanted an easy game, opponent asked to play so i took it. However the handicap table can be a great leveller and morsleys revenge got 3 of my players down. Wasn't a problem in the beginning but add a few injuries and KO's and i was struggling to field a defence. I was lucky though that the elfs were short of numbers themselves and a few injuries for them meant i still won the game.
The second lesson is a life lesson rather than just a fumbbl bb one. When you really must make a roll for something to happen then it will not pass. It doesn't matter the number you need it's all about how important it is : ) hee hee, i'm not being whiny about the RNG, there's enough of that goes on and i'm sure the RNG is fine. It's just we live in a universe where murphys law applies and it applies to blood bowl big time. So, the question for today is "nuffle, are you murphy in disguise?"
Third lesson is that skaven are fast, fast and fast. I don't like to foul too much in normal ranked games, mainly as i don't like losing thralls myself and i hope by not fouling i won't get much fouling on me. However against a skaven team who were down to 11 from the 1st turn that was my downfall. The game itself was a bit unlucky for me on key rolls (see lesson 2) but that's not the point. If i had gone out and whittled him down more i could have won easy. However i'm glad i didn't as maybe i'd run in to him again and he'd have a different team with plenty of DP or such and foul me to death. Maybe now he'll give me a break? Probably not, if you buy DP you're gonna use it but hopefully my lack of dirty play works for me at some point in the future : ) karma its called i think. Does nuffle care about karma? Probably not.
