IMPORTANT: See the FUMBBL Cup FAQ if you have questions.
The rules of the knockout qualifiers are as per the normal rules of knockout as set out in the Tournament Structure FAQ page, where each qualifier contains 8 teams and only the winners progress to the third and final game. Overtime applies to these games in the case of a draw, although it is not "sudden death" so you have to play out the entire 16 extra turns.
Once a qualifier starts, a strict timeframe for playing games will be enforced, according to a rolling deadline every 4 days from the start. You will be expected to play a minimum of two games per week, which will mean if you are the reason a game is not played 4 days after the last deadline, your team will forfeit the game. It is up to the coaches of the teams to schedule the game against their opponent. Note that your team will be "cup-tied", i.e. unable to play any other games, while the qualifier is on.
If a knockout game is still tied after the overtime period, a hidden dieroll will be made by the site (the admins have no control over this). The remaining reroll count is not added to the rolls.
While the structure of the qualifiers is open to change depending on demand, at this stage it is envisaged that there will be 15 knockout qualifiers, along with 15 instant swiss qualifiers and two wildcards. When the qualifiers are finished there will be a final 32-team knockout tournament to decide the winner of the FUMBBL Cup 3. Read the main Cup page for further details.
FUMBBL Cup 3 qualifier tournaments count for rankings where K=6 ... in other words, games count towards your coach ranking three times as much as normal Ranked games.
