Orca-Cola© in association with Bloodweiser© and Reeborc© would like to announce an innovative and radically different tournament structure. Independent tournament organizations have united under the sponsorship of Orca-Cola to form the ORCA-COLA CUP SERIES. The premise of this series is to have multiple tournament options for coaches who like to compete in Knock-Out Tournaments. If a coach gets knocked out of the first or second round they will be able to enter another of the tourneys in just a few short weeks. This will allow coaches to "travel" from tournament to tournament competing with their teams. In between tournaments, teams can play any games they like against any other teams. At the end of the year, the team that has accumulated the most Points from playing in OCCS Tournies will be awarded the coveted Orca Cola Cup! The tournament structures breakdown as follows:

The MAJORS
One Major tournament per calendar quarter will be played in addition to the monthly minor tournaments. Points awarded for the Majors are double those in the Minors, therefore it is far more beneficial to play in the Majors when possible. Teams that have not participated in any minor tournaments will not be allowed to play in a Major tourney.

-Open Play-
OCCS teams may play ANY other League team. It does not matter if they are a part of the OCCS or not as long as they are not involved in an OCCS tournament.
-Scoring-
The OCCS implements a scoring system which decides on how teams are seeded for the Major tournaments. Points for games played within a KO tourney will be awarded as follows:

5 points per game played!

Bonus Points for 1st and 2nd place!

No points for games NOT PLAYED!

Teams must remain ACTIVE to be a part of the OCCS (and to keep their points on the board... retired teams are removed from OCCS point totals!)

TOURNAMENT DATES - 2011 SEASON
All monthly tournies will start on 1st of each month in 2011 provided they have a minimum of EIGHT teams.
Each round lasts ONE WEEK or as determined at the start of the tournament.
To apply for a tournament you must apply with your team to the tourney sub-group. REMEMBER TO APPLY TO THE MAIN GROUP IF YOUR TEAM ISN'T ALREADY A MEMBER. Tournaments will start on schedule. If not enough teams apply for the tournament to make it playable(8,16,32,64,etc...), the last teams that apply may be removed from the tournament.
Example: If 17 teams apply for a tournament the last team to apply will be removed from the tournament so it can start on time with a playable amount of teams which is 16. Tourney filler teams will be used to minimize coaches missing out. If you are drawn against a Tourney Filler then you receive a bye unless a replacement can be found early on.
Need help figuring out time zones? Check out World Clock Meeting Planner

Having problems playing your match due to any reason (your opponent, your time, timezones etc)? Then click here to send a PM to vlokiera and let me know otherwise we may forfeit you unfairly. Unless you tell us, we can't know! If I do not recieve PMs from BOTH coaches, the forfeit will almost always be in favor of the coach that DID send me a PM. I appreciate you letting me know whats going on in the IRC chat, but I NEED PMs TO KEEP ALL THIS STRAIGHT!!
