Redline/deadline guidelines

Receiving a PM from a coach
-Most redline reponses from coaches will be by site PM. However a coach may also inform of not being able to meet a redline date by IRC. In this case it is recommended that the deadline co-ordinator asks the coach to site PM them or otherwise sends a site PM to themself so this is not forgotten when the redline forfeits are issued.

Procedure for redlines
- If not specified, the cut-off time for the specified redline date is 12am BBTime as used by FUMBBL. However due to coaches having differing timezones it is usually best to wait until the next day before issuing forfeits.
- Once redline has passed, forfeits must be issued to those games where one/both coaches have not responded. Remember that BOTH coaches must respond for a game to be extended, otherwise the game is forfeited in favour of the coach that did respond.
- Once forfeits have been issued the scores for the redline period need to be reported with the new tournament scores. Sample layout for the report is given below:

Team 1 - Lose (3-2) + x point (if points applicable)
Team 2 - Win (3-2) + x points (if points applicable)

Team 3
Team 4 -PM received from BOTH coaches. Match extended until deadline.

Team 5 - No reply received, -x points (if points applicable)
Team 6 - PM received, game FORFEITED in their favour, +x points (if points applicable)

Team 7 - No reply from EITHER coach -5 points (if points applicable)
Team 8 -No reply from EITHER coach -5 points (if points applicable, in a KO tournament BOTH teams would be knocked out)

This report needs to be posted in the tournament thread and is also required to be be sent as a PM to that tournament points tallyer.

- If there are no more games to be played after the redline date forfeits have been issued a new round will start. The redline/deadline dates for the new round need to be sent as a Group PM. They also need to be posted in that tournament's thread.

- Once matches for the round have been completed, the tournament scores can be updated with the new team point scores.

Procedure for deadlines
- If there still games that have not been completed after deadline these must be forfeited in the same manner as redlines. The only difference from redline is that neither team receives negative points (both receive 0). For KO tournaments the deadline co-ord needs to determine which team advances using the !d 2 command in #grudgeleague IRC channel.
Note: points-wise, the teams still played a tie. There is no "winner", neither "loser" when the advancing team is settled by a coin toss

- Upon deadline, the deadline co-ord is required to report the extended matches' scores in the tournament thread, as well as send these scores to that tournament's points tallyer by a FUMBBL site Private Message.

- When the deadline is passed, all of the round's games should be either completed or forfeited and a new round will start.
As usual, the coaches need to be informed of these new redline/deadline dates both with a group PM and by posting into that tournament's thread.

- Once matches for the round have been completed, the tournament scores can be updated with the new team point scores.
