Let me tell you of a game. A game of blood and balls. A game where you may be raised upon high as a legend one day and have your face stomped into the ground the very next. That game is Blood Bowl. It is the best sport the Old World has to offer. Within you'll find groups of players from almost every race possible, many will be drilled veterans other green faced trainees wanting to put their name on the map. This place has it all. And best of all, you. Yes YOU. Have been given the task of leading them to glory. Glory. Bloody Glory. Your quest begins, and in many cases ends, right here. In this league. The LOBBA series. If you are brave enough, strap on your boots and get stuck in. Go carve your name into the future!

Come on in, check out our previous leagues, tournaments; and sign up for the next one!
This league is for members of the online forum Librarium-Online. It is for those who have a love of the bloody game, or wish to try it out, to get their boots dirty without having to own the game. The LOBBA series is a short league followed by a final cup knock-out tournament, and lasts for approximately three months. It is a fun league, and we encourage good sportsmanship, as well as nurturing a good competitive edge to the coaches. We also encourage coaches to have fun with their teams, making up good team and player names to aid in the enjoyment of the game. And the delight in crushing them beneath your blood stained boot. We do recommend that coaches come up with a theme for naming their players/team, it adds a fun and interesting personal touch to the team rather than "Eric the Elf" etc. We do not however enforce such a policy. Post season there will be awards handed out to the winners of the league and the Kuffy Memorial Cup. In addition there will be a chance for individual players to pick up a variety of awards such as 'Highest Cas scorer', 'Most TDs' etc. All players, alive or dead are eligible for these awards. There are even some icons available for those wishing to show off their achievements.Teams must be of 100TR.
Coaches wishing to enter a team into this league must be a member of the forum Librarium-Online. There are threads dedicated to the current, and previous, leagues there for sign up. Teams must be entered into the [L] League faction to be available to play in the league and any subsequent tournaments.

There may be multiple conferences all being run at the same time, tied to the same league. If there is any specific entry into these groups then it shall be otherwise noted in the below rules, or in the thread on the forum itself. To ensure a range of races we opt for a policy of no more than 4 teams per race in each league. We operate a first come, first served policy when deciding on races. We reserve the right to request a coach to change their race.

Game Frequency

We are a laid back group, but not too laid back. Each league round will run for ten days, within which time each coach is expected to play at least one game. The league has a rolling schedule, meaning that if you able to play further games then you and more than welcome to do so. As long as the minimum of one game every ten days is met, where possible.

Structure

The series is set out into one or more groups, each one running concurrently with one another. It is even possible for teams to be promoted or relegated into other groups throughout the season. The season will run for four months, before ending on a Knock-Out style tournament: The Kuffy Memorial Cup. The Cup will be between, all teams involved in the league for the season.

Once the final of the Kuffy Memorial Cup has been completed the season will end. Post season there will be the awarding of player/team awards for those who earn them.

Throughout the season we hold a strict policy of no games to be played outside of the league once it has begun. There is a single exception and that is the 'pre-season friendlies'. Pre-season all teams involved are allowed to play a maximum of three games against any team within the league. All injuries, Fan Factor and winnings will remain for the start of the season but injuries will not be counted for the purposes of the awards.

Preferences

We are a friendly league and as such we disallow the use of: Star Players, Wizards (incl. Runesmiths and Halfling Chiefs).We do not however, hold a policy on the use of the Dirty Player skill and so coaches may include as many players with this skill as they desire.We do not ban or penalise the use of fouling. It is a tactical mechanic of the game, though a lot of coaches will not enjoy heir games if they are fouled every turn.

Scoring

The scoring used throughout the league is:
Win - 3pts
Draw - 1pt
Loss - 0pt
Concede - -1pt

Should at the end of the league two or more teams be equal on points then the tiebreaker of most TDs will be used. If again there is a tie, the use of most CAS will be used to decide the winner.

Friendlies

Friendlies are played at the beginning of a new season with the following rules:

<menu>

Friendlies begin only when announced by staff - do not play any games before this!

You are responsible for arranging your own friendlies

All friendlies that you are entitled to must be played before the round deadline - no exceptions

You may not play the same team in a friendly more than once in any one season

</menu>

Promotion and relegation

In the use of several groups it is possible for teams to move between them. At the end of each 'half' the top three teams will be promoted (unless already they are at the top of the highest group already), and the bottom two teams will be relegated. It is impossible to refuse to change groups, even if it takes coaches into a new gaming bracket.

Team Capping

At the start of the season, teams will be arranged into the groups depending on their Team Rating (TR). The highest will be in the upper group and the lowest the lower. This does not stop them being promoted or relegated throughout the season, but is rather just a method of 'seeding' the teams at the start of the season.

GROUP A = No cap TR
GROUP B = 200 TR
GROUP C = 100 TR

Dropping Out, Retirement and Conceding

We ask that coaches do not drop out or retire teams during the season unless it is utterly impossible for them to continue. Should a coach feel that they are unable to continue the use of the team then they are inform a commissioner and it will be reviewed on a team, by team policy. If a coach should wish to retire their team, but return with a new one then this is allowed - as long as it is not past the half way point of the season - but this team will enter the league with 0pts and will not be allowed to partake in any friendlies.

Each coach has a responsibility to play their game during the round. And it is up to them to arrange it. Should at any point a coach believe they will not be able to play the game within the allotted time limit, they will be given an extra two days to complete the match. These extensions are only available from the commissioner. Should only one coach contact the commissioner in the ten day window, then that coach shall be awarded the win. If both do so, then as above they will be given an extension of two days. Conceded games cost a team -1pt.<!--
