Biff: Welcome back everyone, I'm Biff Bobford!
John: And I'm John Jimson, and let's not forget to have a special welcome to our new subscribers! I hope you're all ready for a new year of Blood Bowl! I know we all are here at Cabalvision.
Biff: Right we are John, we just kicked off season three of the NCBBL with the Conorian Cup, the biggest baddest tournament of the whole league!
John: And only the biggest baddest team could take first place, looks like this year it'll be the Hell Horde holding the trophy.
Biff: I couldn't be happier, this means plenty of teams are going to be challenging the new champions to try to prove their worth, and the Hell Horde never disappoints when it comes to bringing pain to the pitch!
John: On top of that, we have some new coaches joining the league. Both coach Gimpogorgon and coach Degravade are bringing some fresh blood with the start of the new season. Degravade has already joined a tournament at our sister league, the New Old World Exhibition League, and the plans of Gimpogorgon are currently unknown, but we hear he's training up a select few Lizardmen warriors to form a team.
Biff: I sure hope old Baron Von Schweinefleischesser gives Degravade and the Minions of Eris a good show. Looks like he'll be starting up a tournament for new coaches with the name Martyr League in honor of the squishy halfling team, Nuffle's Martyrs.
John: Can't wait to see what comes of that.
Biff: Oh I'll be there for those games, Nuffle knows I love myself a good halfling sandwich.
John: I do hope you mean the kind their chefs make.
Biff: No need to cook 'em, John, I like my halfling raw.
John: Don't we all. In other news, Freya's Frozen Cup will kick off the new year in less than a month! Are you ready Biff?
Biff: If it's anything like it was last year, I'm ready. So many casualties. As much as I'd rather see a living, bleeding team play, those stiffies, The Ghoultenders, really caused some pain.
John: I assume they'll win again. Very little hasn't gone their way. From winning Freya's Frozen Cup 2017, to their appearance on Saturday Wight Live, to their winning of the Bank of Altdorf Invitational. That team is a sophisticated bunch of skilled players who can take on whatever the NCBBL throws at them!
Biff: We'll see how Freya's Frozen Cup goes this year with all the new teams on the block.
John: Oh we will see, Biff. Not just us, but all of you Cabalvision premium subscribers as well! Freya's Frozen Cup will use standard rules. In addition, Freya will grant each participating team two magical items for each match. This will be represented by 100,000gp given to each team before each match. This gold may be used ONLY for purchasing two magic item cards, so make sure the first thing you do each match is buy two magic item cards before spending any other inducement money. If this money is misused, it is cause for forfeit of the match. The tournament will start with a round robin format and be divided into divisions based on the number of teams. No division will have fewer than 4 teams or more than 8. The top two players of each division, or top 4 if only one division, will partake in a finals knockout tournament to determine the Champion. The round robin format will use the point system of a win giving 3 points, a tie giving 1, and a loss giving 0. The winner of Freya's Frozen Cup will receive 2 league points.
