A.P.E., the Alliance for Primate Experimentation, is dedicated to "field research" to explore team development for the newly released Simyins roster, aka Apes (see "Simyins Roster" block, below). Simyns teams will play against a variety of other races.

Basic League Format:
o Each Coach will run 2 teams: 1 Simyin + 1 "other" team. (Submit your Simyin team to join the League, the "other" race will be determined.)
o There will be 1 of each "other" team represented, until we have 16 of the 2-dozen different teams represented, then repeat. (So we won't force any "forlorn" teams* on anyone.) Both a Coach's Simyin and "other" team will be in the same Conference (but will never play each other).
(* NO ONE will be asked to run Goblins, Halflings, Ogres, Underworld or Vamps. You can if you want, but they will NOT be considered before we start duplicating teams.)
Note - do not submit an "other" (non-Simyins) team until you are sure which one you will draw. Draws occur before each season, and are done simultaneously between all new coaches.
Note that only 16 (non-forlorn*) races will be played before duplications begin - the 3 least popular (non-forlorn*) races will also be skipped.
Amazon Chaos
o Chaos Dwarf Chaos Pact
o Dark Elf
o Dwarf
Elf (Goblin*) (Halfling*) High Elf Human
o Khemri
Lizardmen Necromantic Norse
o Nurgle (Ogre*)
o Orc
Skaven Slann
o Undead (Underworld*) (Vampire*) Wood Elf
(* Volunteers ONLY. NO ONE will be asked to run these races before we start duplicating races.)
o Pre-season, new and lower-TV teams will receive cooperative "builder" games to get them to a TV that is competitive with other teams in the League before the season starts. (Details tbd each between-season.)
o Season 2: TV 1450 +50k cash (cash -2x TV over 1450, so max TV 1470 + 10k cash).
o Each Round (see next) 2 coaches in the same Conference will be paired up against each other. A pair of coaches will play their Simyin team against their opponent's "other" team, and vice versa, 2 games total. Coaches are encouraged to play their pair of games back-to-back if they wish, to save scheduling hassle.
o Rounds will be ~10 days (deadlines before the 1st, 11th & 21st of each month).
o Given enough teams, there will be 2 Conferences - Euro-time and Americas-time. (Even Pacific-time if we can swing it.)
o At the end of the regular season, the top half of the Simyin teams (see "Points", below) will qualify for the "King of the Jungle" Knockout tournament to determine who is top banana. Prize for KotJ is bragging rights, plus one click-thru game, cash + 5 spp MVP.
o For Season 1, the top 4 Simyins teams will go into post-season. Initial seeding will be #1 vs. #4, #2 vs. #3.
o Other Simyin teams will play in the Banana Games, a "friendly" Swiss for spp, seeded by finishing order. (# Rounds of Swiss = # Rounds of KotJ KO tourney.) No fouling in the Banana Games, please. "Other" (non-Simyins) teams will not participate in a post-season.
A win is 7, a tie is 3, a loss is 1, and a (unexcused) forfeit is -3 (so at least try!).
For tie breaker points:
o 1st TB is standard +/-1/TD diff plus +/-.5/Cas diff.
o Next TB is total TD.
o Next TB is total Cas.
o Next TB's are Ape vs. X head to head record, then TD, then Cas in those games.
o Last, drop-dead TB is who scored last in those 2 games.
(And, as always, this can be revisited by League members before next season.)

Loner, Extra Arms, Wrestle, Dodge, Strip Ball, Catch, Pass Block
A player with Extra Arms may add +1 to any Catch, Pickup or Intercept.
Grab
Only when making a Block action, if the Block results in a Pushback the player may choose any empty square adjacent to his opponent to push back his opponent. Grab will not work if there are no empty adjacent squares.
When making a Block or Blitz action, Grab and Sidestep will cancel each other out and the normal Pushback rules apply.
A player with the Grab skill can never learn or acquire the Frenzy skill through any means (and vice versa).
(...to be added as data comes in... there are many "mathematically possible" builds, certainly not all that are possible are recommended...)
Only currently existing team on FUMBBL: Apes of Wrath.
Note - As a baseline, it is (barely) not possible to start with all 5 +St players plus 3 RR's:
o 140 1x Silverback
o 400 4x Gorilla
o 300 6x Linechimp
o 180 3x RR
Total = 1,020k/1,000k = 20k short for all 5 +St positionals & 3 RR.
What this means is that by dropping just one of those, you can get a lot of possible variations...
o 400 4x Gorilla
o 160 2x Chimp
o 250 5x Linechimp
o 180 3x RR
Total = 990k/1,000k
Conservative and powerful, all 4 +St Grab positionals, plus the only 2 starting players with a "core" skill, the MA 7 Wrestler Chimps, yielding a reliable starting mix. The most popular roster for obvious reasons. (Birara Adventurers, Infinite Monkey Theorem, Monkeyboned)
o 400 4x Gorilla
o 160 2x Chimp
o _70 1x Orangutan
o 200 4x Linechimp
o 120 2x RR
o _50 Apothecary
Total = 1,000k
Dropping a RR gets a Thro-rangutan and Apo. Only 2 RR's demands conservative play, but the Apothecary will be help win games and/or save money with AV 8 & 7. (From Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z)
Variation 4) 2 RR, all 5 +St positionals, 1 Chimp
o 140 1x Silverback
o 400 4x Gorilla
o _80 1x Chimp
o 250 5x Linechimp
o 120 2x RR
Total = 990k/1,000k
A powerful roster, but with only 1 Chimp as sweeper. Only 2 RR will require conservative play. (Jungle Tax Collectors)
Variation 5) 4 RR, 3 Gorillas, 2 Chimpanzees
o 300 3x Gorilla
o 160 2x Chimp
o 300 6x Linechimp
o 240 4x RR
Total = 1,000k
With a team with almost no Blocking/Wrestling (and Ag 3 for Dodging), 4 RR gives a LOT of buffer against bad luck. Only 3 Gorillas means a weaker positional game, and a linechimp will probably have to go before getting the 4 missing positionals (but w/ unskilled AV 7, that should be taken care of via casualties quickly enough). (C.H.U.M.P.)
Variation 6) 1 RR, all positionals
o 140 1x Silverback
o 400 4x Gorilla
o 160 2x Chimp
o 140 2x Orangutan
o 120 2x Linechimp
o _60 1x RR
Total = 1,000k
All positionals to start, but only 1(!) RR = a roster that will be very strong until that 1 RR is gone, and then...? Also will be more expensive to buy RR later. (Bruellaffen)
