Several franchises were dissolved as illegal match-fixing was discovered, explaining the lack of passes and fouls in many Season I games, but new franchises arose to take their place in four divisions.



Since officially launching on 19th day of Brauzeit, the Rumble quickly attracted great interest from throughout the Old World and the New. More than half of the available franchises were acquired in just 14 days.

Three divisions were decided and two play-off tournaments played, with the Karak Azgaraz Fanatics claiming victory.


When orcs rediscovered the sport, they took to it like halflings to sandwiches. However, their own competitions were forced into obscurity as the dwarven-led NAF favoured their own tournaments. Over 35 years after the first Blood Bowl final, the united greenskins have struck out on their own, in an attempt to appeal to fans and sponsors alike.

In the sacred texts of Nuffle, it was said that 32 tribes would enter into combat with one another throughout a season. Those tribes may have been lost in the mists of time but the GDR launched with teams inspired by them. The emblems and colours have been preserved and improved to suit the needs and tastes of the modern, discerning orc.

The league normally recruits between seasons but get in touch with the GDR Commissioner or join the Discord as there may be an opening in-season.

Entry requirements
Coaches of all levels are welcome and the league expects coaches to be supportive and helpful to ensure the league is competitive and coaches feel that they can have a good time, whatever the result. Coaches should communicate predominantly via Discord, predominantly in English, and be available to play at least once every game week either during the weekend or on a weeknight evening.

Commitment
Game weeks last 11 days and so, including the post-season tournaments, a full season of 14 games should last around 5 months. Games should last no more than 2 hours and Coaches are asked not to Time Out other coaches. The league has a policy about slow play, which can be found in the GDR Rules sheet.

Create a team
Once you have chosen a franchise, create your team using this link or click the “Create team for this league” at the top right of this page. Depending on whether you join at the start of the season or during it, you may be able to take part in the seasonal Draft. After you have built your roster via draft, trade, and/or hiring unskilled rookies, go to the Teams page and under the table of teams you will find the “Apply for membership” button.

GDR uses a version of the BB2020 ruleset as implemented on FUMBBL, and the BB2016 player progression. If you would like more information, the ruleset used can be found here. The official one used by BB2020 is this one.

Seasons and Drafts
The GDR is a new, growing league and we anticipate running for several seasons, giving coaches the opportunity to create their own stories and build a legacy.

At end of each regular season, teams qualify for one of up to three post-season tournaments, based on their ranking across all teams.

Depending on where teams finish in the regular season, they will receive picks in the next Draft, with the lowest placed team picking first and the highest placed team picking last.

During the post-season, a roll is made for each Niggling Injury a player has: on a 4+ it is cured (add +1 to roll if team has an Apothecary). Rolls will be made by an admin on Discord.

Also any Players suffering 'MNG' in the last game of the season are patched up ready to play the opening game of next season, again an admin will remove the MNG from your relevant players.

Birthday Potions and Gifts
For the purposes of maintaining a level playing field, please do not use birthday healing potions or any other scrolls or potions from the FUMBBL Kickstarter or fundraising campaigns in GDR.

Deadlines
Each gameweek will have a 11-day deadline, but coaches are very much encouraged to organise and complete matches as often as possible. The deadlines for all the gameweeks will be published on the group homepage and generally communicated during the season kick off. Please get in touch with your opponents early on and any issues with scheduling let your division admin know.

Forfeits
An extension of up to 2 days can be given if both players are sure to get the game played in that time. (N.B. Sometimes this extension will not be available, at the Commissioner's discretion).

The rules used for forfeiting are based on the official FUMBBL tournament rules and are as follows:
* If no coach contacts the staff neither team will get the points. In a cup then it will be random unless one coach has obviously been absent.
* If only one coach contacts the staff that coach wins by forfeit
* If both coaches are judged to be equally responsible for the match failing to be played, neither team will get any points from the match.
* If both coaches contact the admin we will look at the circumstances. This might result in a random forfeit or a certain team forfeiting.

Scoring System
* 4 points are scored for a win (or win by forfeit)
* 2 points for a draw
* 1 point for a loss
* 0 points for a forfeit

Rule Changes
The Commissioner will suggest changes in the league within the appropriate Discord channel. They are also open to suggestions on changes from the community to make things better. Coaches will be consulted before any changes are implemented.

Those damned dwarves lied to everyone... After all, it was the orcs who discovered the sacred palace of Nuffle. Everyone who was there knows it. But the dwarves, with their stupid beards and thick, little legs read their books and wrote their rules and made Blood Bowl their own. Along with their mates, the humies, they set up the NAF, formed their own tournaments, and all that. They made the orcs play on their own and the goblins on their own. What a way to get an advantage.

Well, them Dwarves have won 3 Blood Bowls but us Orcs have won 6 so that shows them who's better.

After the NAF collapse, it's taken 60 years for greenskins to unite and run their own league. But nobody can take it away from us now!
